I probably wouldn't, but him being rich looking and driving a nice car doesn't factor into it. I just don't like to involve myself in other people's shit. If I had to push someone's car out of the road it would be the rich looking guy though. Being productive enough to earn that kind of money and caring enough about their appearance to wear those kinds of clothes is a mark in their favor as far as I'm concerned.

I'd be reluctant, those are often the type of people that will try to sue you if you get finger prints on their car while trying to help them. I figure he's rich, he'll call a tow truck. Heck I probably would just to save me the embarrassment. lol

I would have to agree. Best to err on the safe side and avoid such a problem.

I'd like to retract my answer...

I'd help. And then I'd say that I was hurt.

Money in the bank. Money in the bank.

If I see someone broken down looking for help even on the side of the road, I call the county police. They have people who are paid to help them, and you've still done a good deed for the day.

this past weekend there was a driver who's car was broken down in the middle of the highway who was trying to push his car to the side of the road. 2 other drivers and myself helped push their car out of the way.

It is a very dangerous situation to be stopped in the middle of the highway, glad I helped the gentleman out and would do so again.

Yeah, but mostly because he's blocking traffic for everyone else.

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few", and other assorted BS Star Trek logic apply here.

If they are trying to move (car, truck, bus, etc) I will help. Once 1 person starts usually several others pitch in and you get the mess out of the way sooner.

He's going to need and call for a tow truck anyway. Would be a help to other drivers to clear the intersection and get traffic moving. Wouldn't make any difference to the porsche driver.

Depends on the situation I imagine myself these days.

Porsche wouldn't be a factor, but I've actually gotten myself in a bad spot twice in my life stopping to help people out, there won't be a third in my lifetime personally unless it's a serious I need help emergency matter that triple A can't handle in the near future.

Not voting, none fit.

i hope so, b/c I used to drive a boxster and now have a 911 Coupe - however i sure don't dress or look like i'm rich

but i hope if my car broke down I would be smart enough to coast to the shoulder and call roadside assistance

Well it helps him not be "the ass who is screwing up traffic."
In this instance though, in reality it is barely helping the driver. A little, but not really. The tow can get to him anywhere, but it is a little easier to do it away from traffic.

Now, helping to push cars that are stuck in snow, that's definitely a tremendous amount of help for the driver, obviously.

Depends on the road and traffic, sometimes it;s actually dangerous to do that. But if he needs help and it's safe, why not? It doesn't matter if it's a beater or a supercar.

I helped two older guys push their car out of a parking garage (level ground). Did it without a second though. I was leaving class and it looked like they were struggling. I joined right in and they sure didn't complain having extra help.

It depends on what the guy is wearing to be honest. If its like, a business guy driving a porche going to work and his car broke down, I would help. If its like some douchebag on sunday smoking a cigar with sunglasses on his head or something I would pass. Basically if it looks like someone who is "old money" and is used to driving cars like porches I would help. And if it looks like someone who is "new money" and is an over compensating douchenozzle I would pass cause I don't want to get involved in their fail.

I wouldn't help push someone on a major road here push their car. Our drivers hit even FHP with their flashing lights on while roadside.

I would probably offer to call AAA for them, but someone in a Porsche should have road side of some sort available.

I won't even change my own tire on major highways and a few of my cars don't even include one.

No where I have to been that quickly that's worth risking my life.
