Where is the honor in prolonging existence if it must be done with the actions of a coward, thief, and murderer? >>
Is it really that of a coward? I think of it more along the lines of "take one for the team". I seriously doubt many people would give their lives for that sort of purpose... which begs the question, which is the better choice? The survival of the collective, or the rights and wishes of one?
Is that selfish of the collective, or is it merely survival instinct?
Sidenote: Maybe it's just because I'm a Christian - I find an interesting parallel between this question and the situation faced by Christ; He gave His life for the whole of mankind; which only His blood could save.
That's just me, though.
