Right now I pay $8/mo for Netflix Canada, which has abysmal selection compared to the REAL Netflix. If I could stream anything and everything (all TV shows and movies) as they are released in perfect quality, then I'd pay $30/mo for that for sure. I doubt that will ever happen. What you get for $30 with any cable provider is pretty shitty.

I don't see cable companies needing to compete with "online services". They are not competing with torrent sites or illegitimate free streaming sites. So who is really giving any competition here, Netflix? L O L.

Maybe I'm just bitter because the selection sucks so bad up here.

If you truly mean 100% of all movies then yes. Some flicks are too rare and out of print to get easily. Some were only ever released on VHS or Laserdisc or some other obsolete format. Some shows only ran 1 season or less. Does this include foreign films and independent films? Random college film class assignment level B movies? Porn? What quality of video? Would this mean people could easily get the original Star Wars trilogy in high def but no changes in the actual plot or effects?

I don't watch enough movies to make that worthwhile. I would pay $10 for 10 movies or so. I was considering Netflix just DVDs but seems that's not possible.
