That woman on the right just might be the hottest woman I've ever seen

I agree :wub::wub::wub:

Also, HAL9000 voted for Airbus, therefore the correct answer is the Russian plane. Everyone knows this.

For me it's airbus or boeing.

Too many tupolevs fall on kazakhstan or russia. Also they're mostly operated by operators from those countries. Which means maintenaince sucks.
So it might not be brand-related, but if a brand is used by companies with bad manteinance, then who's at fault doesn't matter, I avoid the brand and thus avoid those companies.

There are ugly women everywhere. It's just that they don't go around as much.

LOL, all aircraft safety experts confirms that both are very safe, they have different design philosophies but are both very safe. Safety is about the airline, not about the aircraft. I guess just another stupid flagwaving thread. Some Americans are just butthurt that Airbus is the largest commercial aircraft manufacturer and it only took them 25 years or so

I agree they're both safe, but a big part of Airbus's growth has to do with the below market rate loans that they've been getting from the different European governments which have been declared a violation of the WTO. It's not hard to grow a business quickly when you can borrow money for rates much cheaper than your competitors can simply because a government wants to give you a leg up.

and the same WTO also ruled the same about Boeing

The loans were valid under an agreement signed by Airbus and Boeing in the nineties, then Boeing backed out of the agreement because they were loosing from Airbus

I've ridden a Russian plane in China 31 years ago and ridden a airbus last year. But nothing beats a Boeing. Nothing.

Obviously given the choice you'd pick Boeing since it's made in America and America is the best.

But to pick a distant second, would you rather fly on a plane like this or an Airbus?

Airbus:
Pros: ???
Cons: Terrible safety record, made in EU by a bunch of socialists. I'm scared to fly on these.

Russian Plane:
Pros: Hasn't been proven to be dangerous like the Airbus planes yet.
Cons: The worker putting it together was probably drunk.

I think my answer is obvious.

This is a stupid poll. Airbus and "The Russians" make fantastic aircraft. I would have no problem being flown on or flying either.

That was due to both engines ingesting birds, rendering both engines basically useless. I view the result of this accident as a testament to the pilots ability and a plus for Airbus ultimately. And I am a hard core Boeing guy. Do you view this incident as a mark against Airbus?

There is a little more to the story. Had the FADEC software been a little less conservative, I'm willing to bet that A320 would have been able to return to LGA.

I don't think its a mark against Airbus at all but a mark against whomever programmed those FADECs. Safety v. $$.

Ive flat out refused flights on airbus planes before, but thats just me.

Then you're an idiot. Any commercial airliner made by Boeing or Airbus is extremely safe as long as it's not operated by some horrifyingly bad third world airline.

Boeing has also been cited by the WTO for receiving illegal subsidies.
