I go to work early and come home late Lol.

Yeah, this is what I do too.

Given the options presented above, I would far, far prefer to get home from work early. I can't really sleep in, so it makes far more sense for me to get off earlier, plus I like being able to get things done in the afternoon/evening before things close.

Sleep later. I'm not a morning person. Great thing is, my work schedule is somewhat flexible, so I will have some evening work a couple times a month and get to sleep in :awe:

Generally, 6 to 2:30 here and would much rather have this schedule than to sleep later. Last job was 8 to 5 and hated it, mostly because of the 5 quitting time and getting home at 5:45 or later.

Now I'm home by 2:45 or so and it's great.

No matter what if I have to get up early with an alarm, I'll be tired, as my natural wakeup time is past 12pm. So I rather just get up early to finish earlier. Though starting much later (like 12-1) is not bad either as I can just sleep in.

I like my current job because it's shift work so I work lot of 12 hour shifts, which then gives me lot of time off. Night shifts are also nice as I can sleep in all I want. It's so hard switching back to day shift after a set of nights though.

My favorite was 6:00-6:30pm Fri-Sun. Now I work 7-4 mon-fri. Kinda sucks. If I could work any earlier I would.

Earlier.

I did 6:30am-2:30pm once. I loved it and would do it again given the chance.

Sleep later. My body does not function no matter how early I sleep. I have to get up after 10am, otherwise I feel like crap all day.

Isn't it amazing how that works, how everyone is different? I'm totally the opposite - if I go to bed at 8:30pm, I wake up at 4:00am & feel great all day. Otherwise I just kinda drag. My problem is that I'm a total nightowl and like to stay up till like 11:00pm

I have the flexibility work whatever hours I want. I normally work something like 11-7.

I'm irritable and grumpy instead of being my normally charming self when I don't get to sleep in. Rather work late.

I hate traffic

so I'd be fine with waking up earlier or waking up later as long as it is to avoid getting stuck in traffic to go to or leave work

Some of my work cannot be done during normal business hours because I can't work on the systems when the clients are trying to use them. So, that generalization doesn't always work The evening work I do can be done from anywhere with an internet connection however (remote work) so I always do that from home anyway.

The rest... well, I am single and never really had a social life. Unless the forums count

If I'm not working at my job I'm more than likely working on some side project for a friend anyway. I have another PC and two cell phones to repair this week for example.

Call me a machine, or a loser, fine. I don't care that much.

1. No shit.
2. I have no family (or friends).
3. See #2.
4. See #2.
5. No social life? Obviously. Incompetent? lol, no.
6. I guess I'm fortunate to not have morphed into being a machine.
7. What would that prove? Many would consider someone who intentionally annoys their boss to be incompetent.

Oh, and to answer the original question, I think that the later schedule is far better -- I generally work 10:00 - 18:00. The earlier I wake up, the angrier I am. I love winter -- I rarely have to see the sun (some days I'll go in early just so that it's dark when I arrive and dark when I leave, I love it).

It really depends on whether you're a morning person or night person. I currently work 7:15 am to 3:45 pm but I would prefer to work 8-5. Getting up around 5 am to make the commute kind of sucks, especially when I'm not home until well after 5pm.

I work 6pm to 4am D: I get jet lagged on my days to off if I try to go to bed early and wake up at 8 am. I will say I sleep alot longer than I would if I worked at 6am

Ouch yeah that has to suck. I usually go to bed at 5am, I can't imagine having to get up at that time. When I'm on night shifts I go to bed at like 8am lol. I get home around 7am, but I'm not really tired enough so I just wind down for an hour or so then go to bed.

Tell this shit to the entrepreneur, the writer, the academic, the artist, the person that honestly loves what they do...

This is total bullshit if you love your job.

Up at 6, 20min SSS, 40min walk to work:
work 7am-11am
eat
work 12pm-4pm
drive home:
kids 4:30-7:30
eat
work 8-10
down time 10-12

Honestly, a 9-5 job is an excuse to waste half of your waking life infront of the TV.

I'd say get there early and leave early. I work 7-330 and love it. It sucks getting up at 445, but when I'm walking out of work at 330 it makes it worth it.
