To me, James Bond (007) is just a title that pass down after the agent's killed in action.
I think any agent that's good enough (intelligent+athletic+lucky+sex appeal) can be a James Bond.

Would be kinda cool IMO. An Asian could also play him at some point. It's not as if the White Actors who played Bond are indistinguishable or something. Just as long as the basic Character is maintained, I think most would hardly notice or care about the race of the Actor.

Idris Elba or Clive Owen I think could have done it a few years ago imo they might be a bit old for the role and Daniel Craig was pushing that when he took the role.

I've always pictured Bond to be in early to mid-late 30s. At least that is the impression the couple of books I've read have left me with.

However if either of them went through a serious workout regiment to get to 10% body fat or less then I'm sure their acting ability would make up for that

I think most white people would initially dismiss the idea as awkward at the very least.

The more I thought about it, though, the more I actually warmed to the idea. There possibly could have been a black man who rose through the ranks at MI-6 to 00 status; it's not as far-fetched as it seems. If you consider the time period It's a lot more plausible than a black Felix Leiter.

I lost interest in the Bond series a long time ago. I skipped the last Brosnan film and impatiently sat through some of Casino Royale before giving up at the Texas Hold/em scene. I wanted to give Craig a chance at least, and I'd do the same for a black actor playing Bond.

Yes, because then it would actually bring back the James Bond "theory" that I liked to believe that got ruined in the last movie.

I liked thinking that James Bond was just one of many code names given to an agent, and that over time there have been many Bonds as they retire or die. It helps to partially explain the different actors, different time periods, etc. Yes, I understand it's just a movie and I shouldn't actually apply any brain power to it... but I can't help it. This last movie showed his parents' grave stones or some such shit that proved his real name really is "Bond" so that was all shot to hell.

Anyway, I'm just ready for a different Bond. I liked Craig but every time they cast a new Bond they make a good first movie. They just get shitty from then on until they re-boot again.

James bond is sort of a weird franchise in that we are a bit desensitized to radically changing actors in the main role.

I wouldn't be against the idea of a black James Bond, but the casting would be tricky.

Maybe Tony Osoba? Go for the older Scottish bond thing again.
