10%

anything more than 9.34% and I'm out!

seriously, it depends on how long I've been with the company, if they are willing to pool the back pay with interest to be paid out when times are better, and/or the ability for me to get another job.

I definitely wouldn't voluntarily walk into my boss's office and say "I know times are tough.. pay me 10% less."

No way. A pay cut or reduction in pay is a step backwards career wise. Career must always move forward, more money.

If it meant lose my job or take the cut, I would take the cut. I would also be looking for other work.

Companies that get to that point are usually about to die anyway as there is something fundamentally wrong with them, so you would be better off looking for a new job.

It depends on several things

-How long have I worked for the company
-Am I just a fish in the sea (large company/firm)
-Do the rewards to be reaped in the future (if any) outweigh the current paycut?

well, they have been laying off and cutting out management positions. although your job doesn't seem to be in jeopardy, but who knows.

trimming to the bone is ok too? how about trimming so far that those remaining are overworked and now are being asked to take a 10% cut in pay.

the company is profitable.

in my experience most people don't work as hard as they think they do...like I said I would take the cut and peace out when I found another job

Is upper management taking a net pay cut as well? Or are they getting a "pay cut" followed by a larger-than-usual bonus?

Like the auto execs working for $1/yr salary. Right. I bet their net income from other sources will be more than I'll make in the next 20 years.

if by your company you mean, one that i own, sure

aside from that, if i thought i would have a hard time finding another job, i would take the cut, but it wouldnt be out of the goodness of my heart for the company in any case
