x850XT PE performs better than a 6800U.

If both cards are PCIE, I'd keep the Ultra, w/o a doubt.

2 6800Ultras beats everything, period.

There's not enough difference between X850 XT PE and Ultra to care, or swap out the boards and drivers.

wow rollo what is with you and SLi? does he HAVE two ultras? he has ONE ultra. 1+0=1.
1 x850XT PE pretty much kills the ultra in every game/benchmark, save DoomIII.
did you notice his sig btw?

What? X850XT/PE's are cheaper than a 6800 Ultra. Your post makes no sense.

How many times do I have to say this.

Ultras in SLI not only is a waste of money, you won't notice a difference between 2 Ultras and an x850XT PE.

I'd be carefull about trading a card that I know is working perfectly for one that I hope has no issues. Gain is probably not worth the risk.

i just confirmed this on HardOCP. i figured there would have been a bigger difference i KNOW that the cards arent CPU limited at 16x12 2x 8x...

I'd keep the 6800U, it has more features and you wouldn't be able of telling the perf difference.

I'd keep the 6800U if the PVP worked as it was supposed to (encoding/decoding...mostly encoding, which we haven't heard anything about in months).

Otherwise, probably would go for the X850XTPE.

Yep, reading the articles right now, hell 3 more fps in HL2 with SLI'd 6600GTs compared to just one 6600GT... yeah, that's worth buying 2. I have to say, HardOCP's comparison charts are retarded though.

i like them, its real world performance. not just averages, its a whole run through with the minimum FPS recorded also.

This is the cheapest X850 XT-PE that I could find (from a reliable reseller):
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-473&depa=0
$769

But even the most expensive 6800 Ultra (eVGA) (from newegg):
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-222&depa=0
is only $639

Seems there is at least a $130 price difference (and that's assuming the cheapest X850 XT-PE with the most expensive 6800 Ultra!)

Don't mock what you don't understand. I also have to say, HardOCP's comparison charts are retarded though.
