Given that Trump pretty much started preparing for his 2020 campaign before he took office, Johnson would have to run as a Democrat in 2020 no matter what he wanted. Especially if he wanted Tom Hanks as a running mate.
As it is, Johnson is a bastion of compassion, intelligence and moderation compared to Trump. I'm glad he's not actually running for President, because we desperately need to stop treating elections like popularity contests, but I'd be far happier with him in charge than an egocentric oligarch.
Everything we know about Johnson's politics can be summed up in a fairly short sentence: He loves the troops, thinks we should all come together, likes leadership and thinks the president should have poise. That's it.

Trump is working harder than Obama ever dreamed of working. Trump actually cares for this country and wants the best. If you would drop your feelings of hate just because Clinton failed and actually look at what Trump is doing, you would see it too. The problem is you let the media tell you what to say and think, then try to think it is the right that is doing the same. The problem is Trump is not the left or right and the establishment hates him for it.
