I like my addons, maybe you just have too few. As far as the number of buttons, it's dependent on the number of skills, hence the class you're playing. My shaman's even worse; 5 action bars are filled to the brim with spells, I have to use autobar as a shoestringed 6th for my water & potions.

Part of the appearance of clutter is also probably due to the reso of 12x10. If I could go back and get a 20", 16x12 LCD instead I would, but this is what I've got. It's really not complicated once you're used to it, and I can't think of a single addon I could do without.

Figuring out what's going on is as simple as reading the chat window. Or difficult, if you find reading to be as such.

I actually have 4 chat windows. One for guild/party/raid/whispers, one for channel (1/2/3/4) chat, one for all the combat messages and one for rolls.

Works pretty good for me. The roll window is new, mainly because 15 rolls filling up my chat windows bugged me. I guess I could put rolls in the 1/2/3/4 channel as well, since those channels aren't used much in instances.

On the topic of monitors, I'd actually like to get a 20" (or 24", but my vidcard can't run that) widescreen fp. I used a WS res for about a week (had no choice) and I really liked the extra room on the sides.

i didnt use to do it but it seriously makes a HUGE difference

just set the chat hover delay long enough so you arnt poping it up all the time when you dont want to

I don't like tabs anyways. I usually miss messages when there's tabs, because I forget to check them. (And I don't notice the tab changing color until it's too late)

The buttons are just filled up with a ton of skills. There are mods to switch up you first bar based on events. Personally I use bibbars with 4 rows, though typically only the first two or filled with skills and lower rank skills (caster). The top rows typically have my profession stuff in the upper right. Though with bibbars you can make the empties transparent so they don't take up a lot of space. Chat log bottom left, combatlog above that in the smallest box possible. UI scaled down around 60%ish. I'll nab a picture later.

Things don't really get ugly until you are in a raid, and CTraid takes up the right half of screen. As a mage I barely pay attention to it, other than to tell me who is attacking/being attacked. On my priest I barely look away from it, only to move my guy to avoid AoE or more agro. :laugh:

Edit: And I still didn't catch the spelling mistake. (Is it the guy spamming for ubrs, then responding with "your" instead of "you're"?)

edit2: Also looks like you are a fellow esdf man, judging from keybindings.

It should be "you're too low", I just found it funny in combination with the fact my sarcasm flew about 8 miles above his head. Spam is one of my pet peeves; the reason I made the thread title 'alts are fun' is that I can be a sarcastic jackass on my alts without a care.

I've played every class to at least some level or other, and nobody has it quite as bad as shamans and hunters. Actually paladins might - that's the one class I haven't touched. My rogue's UI looks much sleeker, due simply to the fact he doesn't have 500 spells/skills.

Though I've noticed people on my new server have a low tolerance for spam, which is nice. For some reason alliance rogues like to hop on Ogrimmar buildings and spam until someone kills them.

I typically dig on people, like a guy spamming for "Gnomerang", to which I followed his message with "LFG Gnumbergone".
