Wow and CRT size

I would like 30+ for WOW but don't want to spend 1500 bucks for a Dell or Apple monitor. Are there any CRT or TV options that would work fine for WOW. Its the only game I play. <$500 would be great. (considering I am gonna do about $300 on computer upgrades)

I've seen 32" LCD TVs for under $500 around Christmas.

The spec says it supports VGA input for PC, not DVI, but it has HDMI, so figure it would work with DVI-HDMI converter. Best to try to figure that out before buying. Otherwise, looks ok.

That Viewsonic panel you have as an option will work. I used to play WoW on my Dell w3201c 32'' LCD TV at 1366x768 and it looked beautiful. The only problem I had was my setup made me have to sit on a couch with a keyboard on a table in front of me, so leaning forward to play got annoying and was uncomfortable, haha. Viewing distance when considering a monitor of that size is often an issue so unless you have some kind of setup that can warrant a large monitor with your eyes at a good distance away with out giving up comfortability then I wouldn't go for it. Also, the native resolution of 1366x768 isn't huge, but it should do. The DVI-to-HDMI converter will work - that's what I used and it worked perfectly.

WoW did look fantastic on it and having a whopping 32 inches of screen space was fun. Good price, too.

Thanks you all have been very helpful. What would I be getting into if I get this? In terms of playing wow and conversions. Are there some simulators that can change native, I have no idea what native is on this. (size off the thing doesnt matter to me)

Definetly do not get that. I'm not sure of all the technical jargon that I can throw at you to convince you otherwise, but don't get a CRT, even if it is HDTV. The Viewsonic you posted is a much better choice, and if it slightly exceeds what you want to spend, then just go a bit smaller but don't get CRT.

Has a lot to do with resolutions, which someone else with more knowledge in that area I'm sure will explain.

Exactly. That Viewsonic is quite nice though, especially for the price and if you want gaming on a huge screen something that is 32 inches and 720p capable will fall somewhere around your price range, as long as you shop around.

False! I bought a Dell P1130, 21" CRT for about $130 shipped. Best monitor I've ever used.

I wasn't speaking about CRT in general, I was talking about THAT particular item, it was a CRT Television, not a monitor.

The 32" viewsonic is going for $499 AR now, for $115 AR extra I can get the Syntax above, any ideas?
