Warlock is a class. My head just exploded...

Race doesn't matter a whole lot... (Although Undead is good AGAINST warlocks as they naturally resist fear.)

If you're going to go based solely on racial traits, go gnome if you're alliance (for the +int) or undead (for Will of the Forsaken - which makes you immune to fear). Underwater breathing bonus isn't really worth it for the warlock, since they get undending breath anyway as a spell.

im a gnome warlock and like it a lot. the escape artist has come in handy quite a few times. i personally am not an engineer, but i imagine that that could be useful to some. I played UD warlock in beta, and i must say i like the gnome better, simply because i ran out of mana less often. just my 2 cents.

not to mention priest. WoF is a active racial ability with a cool down. They have a passive resistence (+10 to shadow). Both of these make good against a Shadow priest casting fear or spells and a warlock casting fear or shadow spells

You run out of mana less? Gnomes have an increased intelligence, dont they?

I got a level 40 gnomish warlock and I don't know how it compares mana-wise to the undead but mana is not an issue for me. The only time I don't like playing the gnome is when I have the Voidwalker up (which is the case 90% of the time) and he obstructs my view. The VW is huge and the gnome is small and when you get into tight surroundings it can be a PITA. And even when you are in open areas he still has a habit of getting into your line of sight.

The difference in stats at the beginning of the game is so miniscule by the time you reach L60 that it's not really worth considering. Racial skills and aesthetics are all the really matter. Undead and gnome skills are really good and benefit any class. Orcs' pet bonus would be nice also. I would never play a gnome just because they're so annoying, but thats just personal opinion.

Orc warlocks look silly on their mounts. They're too big for the poor horse.

Undead all the way!

<--- 43 Undead Mage

They work well for warlocks too. Being a gnome will get you killed quickly on alot of servers

Has anyone see any benefit from the human stealth detection skill? I didn't even know I had it...

That and the Spirit increase are good for Warlocks...

1. because Rogues are caster killers and detecting them early = good
and
2. Fast health regen = faster mana regen (via life tap)

Since the stealth detection only lasts 20 secs with a 3 minute cooldown I think it has limited usefulness. A lot of the time when you get ganked by a rogue you never see them coming.

OTOH, it would be pretty handy if you saw them first and then they stealthed. You could guesstimate where they are heading to and try to detect them before they get an opener off on you. If you detect a rogue before they get their opener off you probably increase your chance of winning by 50% or more.

It would have been helpful last night when I was getting corpse camped by a Troll Rogue...

And when the bastard finally left me alone, he started killing the defias traitor instead... :|

Yea, I did. I'm trying to get a feel for what I want for my next char. The hunter is fun...but I wanted to do something a little different and not in the Crossroads.
