I bought some DOGE on Coinbase this morning. I still haven't sold any crypto, but I'm thinking about swapping my bitcoin for doge. I would get tax write-off for my bitcoin loss while establishing larger new position in doge.

I finally gave in and opened Robinhood account just for Dogecoin. I will buy and sell Dogecoin and nothing else on Robinhood. I didn't want to open Robinhood account because I don't particularly like the company but they're the whale when it comes to dogecoin. There are people speculating that Robinhood is the whale who owns like 30% all dogecoin in existence. I don't know if that's true or not but it's time I set aside my bias and finally join Robinhood just like I finally joined buying bitcoin and crypto this year.

Coinbase will still have my main crypto account but Robinhood will be nice supplement for doge.

You know that Coinbase offers Dogecoin trading now, right? I just bought some days ago. They're even offering a contest where you're entered in a drawing for extra Doge if you buy at least $100 of it.

yes, I bought some doge on Coinbase yesterday. But I want to try out Robinhood and just strictly trade doge. I don't like keeping all my money at one company. I have brokerage accounts at like 7 different banks/brokerages. I like to have backups and options in case something happens at one company. Robinhood will be my doge account.

I know Robinhood doesn't offer wallet transfer because you don't actually own the physical coins. But Robinhood offers free doge trading. I'm sure the fill isn't as good as Coinbase and others but long as it's not horrible, I can deal with it. And I don't plan to transfer doge coins to physical wallet so Robinhood should work fine. I'll try out Robinhood and if I don't like it, I'll transfer the money to Coinbase.

The defi space is really exploding with stuff like Polygon/Matic, and much of it is built on Ethereum. I think the BTC correction has driven the masses to defi passive income, rather than speculation.

The flippening may yet happen, but I think it will be short lived, and then I think BTC will gradually recover to 64K, the defi space will cool off, and BTC will hit six figures.

I also find it annoying that the news reporters are "amazed" that the FBI was able to track and recover some of the Colonial Pipeline ransom. Bitcoin is not a magical untracable currency... quite the opposite. It has a PUBLIC ledger, for pete's sake... the transaction history is out in the open!

Meanwhile, XMR exists.

Your idea of pleasant is different than mine!

It's looking like it might be a cruel, cruel summer for crypto. I got Diamond Hands, though!

I bought more DOGE today on Coinbase. And my Robinhood account will soon have lot of DOGE as well.

A lot of ransoms are just sitting in wallets unused. Not sure what the hacker's plan is to spend it.

I think it should retest all levels lower than it currently is as it moves it's way towards nothing.

Oh stop. BTC sucks, but it isn't making your video cards cost more.

Meanwhile, those of us who are investing in blockchain that DOESN'T rely on PoW are still getting wrecked every time BTC dips because hype drives prices.

Maybe someone can get Kim Kardashian to post some positive things about it to drive up the price. Attaching a pop culture celeb to a trendy fad is a sure fire way to get the masses pouring USD into it.

After what Elon did, I could do with a few fewer celebrity endorsements.

If the IRS would adopt sane tax policies towards "digital tokens" instead of treating them like real estate, that would probably drive prices through the roof.

As more institutions buy bitcoin, volatility will stabilize and celebrity shenanigans will become less impactful.

It seems like there is a common misconception that BTC will continue to be predominantly sustained by fickle retail investors.

I dont think it was just retail, it may have been big institutions who were getting short with hedging contracts. We will see if it does. The BC miners have been through a massive correction with the 50% selloff.
