And here we have the...

Kodakcoin Miner !

http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-42630136

Actually that's a Bitcoin mining service Kodak launched, they (or a partner company) are renting out time/processing on the slew of miners they have connected. They are also using excess power from an onsite power plant at Kodak's HQ to provide electricity at a cost of 4c/kWh so overall not a bad way to go. Kodak is struggling to figure out how to truly survive in the digital era, most everything with their name on it is produced by 3rd parties under license. Thankfully some big film directors are doing their part to contract with Kodak for regular film production to ensure film's survival for cinema in the near-term.

I like the idea of the Kodakcoin though, that is, if they can get the blockchain licensing/copywriting/watermarking service down so that not only is usage tracked but perhaps even actively blocked if a photographer has a right to deny that specific use (commercial as opposed to fair use). If a retraction can be sent through the blockchain to deny access that would be sweet. But there'd have to be some kind of fair-use mechanism or appeal or something if that were to be the case.

Yeah, my bad, I just like the word "Kodakcoin"...

yup that's the mining service they want to offer... which really doesn't seem to add up pricewise at first glance. Gonna have to take a bit of time do the math properly.

And VEN is skyrocketing and I wasn't able to get all the capital I wanted into it. No Lambo for me, but Zeze can fix his frozen pipes now.

If you truly believe in it, it's best to just forget about it, you'll develop weak hands at some point throughout the game.

You can be this guy - https://gizmodo.com/man-forgets-about-buying-27-of-bitcoin-is-now-worth-a-1454150399
*notes the date on the article*
*notes it commenting on the price 'skyrocketing to $197'*
*calcs his investment currently at around $75mil if he's HODL'd*
Sucks that he spent a fifth of it on an apartment, he could be retired damn near anywhere he wanted at this point.

If Kodak believes in crypto and the blockchain, they deserve to get themselves our of their hole.

I was thinking about the incredible arbitrage opportunity between the bitcoin, eth, and other coins prices in US vs South Korea. It seems like there is big enough price difference to make it lucrative and very worthwhile to buy the coins in the US and send it to Korea to sell it there. The problem is getting the money out of South Korea but you just have to get creative. This seems like no-brainer. What am I missing?

EDIT: NVM, I just read about the South Korea's Financial Services Commission Chairman's speech on cracking down on bitcoin money laundering. I don't want to be involved when regulators are looking to put the hammer down on the practice.

There are arbitrage opportunities among a number of exchanges, the question is, do you have enough capital to make money even after trading fees and taxes?

At gaps between 2K to as much as 4K on some exchanges... yes lots of room for profit.

Saw interesting statistics today concerning Github & Bitcoin development:

Bitcoin Core Git Stats 2017:

- Total pull requests created: 1'843 (~5 per day)

- Merged pull requests: 1'195 (~3.27 per day)

- GitHub comments/reviews: 21'153 (~57.95 per day)

- Commits: 3'277 (~8.98 per day)

- Git contributors (merged code): 161

- GitHub contributors: 713

I had no idea there was that much activity and peer review for Bitcoin, great news.

Greed is at every level.

I got in ripple at 1.05 and ven at 1.20 and I wished I spent all my play money on it that day.

Instead I eased in... bought more at 1.35 ripple and ven at 3.50.

A coworker of mine bought ripple at 0.54. He too wishes he bought more.

I'm gonna do price prediction for end of December 2018. It's completely pulled out of my ass and based on nothing.

BTC = $25,000 (yes this means btc isn't even top5 or top 10 in market cap. I just don't see use case of BTC. Replacing fiat via some kind of a revolution and bypassing establishment banks just seem like a pipe dream, even after 3 -5 yrs)
ETH = $3K
VET = $50
XRP = $12
ICX = $70
XRB = $120
DBC = crashed and burned or hover as same as today
Lots of alt coins die out.. if you look at 2017 january coinmarketcap snapshot, you don't see 80% if those coins today.

I also think several new alt coins that don't exist now flourish...similar to how FB and Google didn't come into dominance well after yahoo, aol, myspace, etc

Hopefully I'm at least right and we make some good money. Or everything crashed. Or it even mooned 100x.

For what it's worth, Binance is accepting new users as of 9:00 PM eastern. Don't know how long they'll keep it open but for those who have been waiting to get in.. get in while the getting is good.

coinmarketcap also shows you what markets a particular coin is listed on.

Really kicking myself here for not having picked up some VEN/VET.

It's still sub $10, it's going to be worth a lot more later this year (maybe even next week). I'm still waiting for a wire to clear so I can add more.

There's countless ways to kick yourself for missing out. I was contemplating jumping in on DBC at 8 cents.., just over a week ago. Shilling was real on reddit but it just felt iffy - distributed AI solution for med businesses?

Well it's 38 cents now.

It would've been a good short-term ride then dump it to VET.
