World of Warcraft crashed on my Win2k box earlier and now Win2k blue screens during boot-up. It gets past the point where you press F8 for Safe Mode before it blue screens. Also, it won't boot in Safe Mode either.
I removed the hard drive, put it in an external USB case and connected it to another Win2k box. As an external drive:
Can I repair the drive? It seems like there is something wrong with the partition since Win2k cannot see the drive as an external drive in Windows Explorer.
Thanks for any help.
I removed the hard drive, put it in an external USB case and connected it to another Win2k box. As an external drive:
- Win2k Computer Management -> Disk Management sees the drive as "Healthy (Active)" and the single partition but doesn't recognize the NTFS
- I ran TestDisk and it sees the disk partition and NTFS. It also says the MBR and recovery MBR match.
- PC Inspector sees the drive and I am able to copy files to a backup.
Can I repair the drive? It seems like there is something wrong with the partition since Win2k cannot see the drive as an external drive in Windows Explorer.
