I recently built a new pc at microcenter and spent under $275 total. I kept my old 300gb hdd and dvd burner and installed all the new parts. I also reused a 6790 and a corsair 550w psu
Here is what I got
Case: $35 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119227
CPU is an i3-2100 $99
Gigabyte z68 board with sata 3 and usb 3.0, model is not on NE: $59
RAM: $35 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104262
Case fans cost me another $20.
Total was like $268 with tax.
I upgraded from an e8400 system and I am super glad I upgraded. The i3-200 is a beastly cpu.
Even with the stock hsf temps are ~30 at idle and ~48 at load.
BEST PURCHASE EVER.
