It was all over the WoW forums last week. They did a hot fix over the weekend to correct the issue. I haven't seen it happen on Bronzebeard yet but that would be funny.

Still was happening last evening, just goes away more quickly because you can't spread it to pets anymore.

I gotta say I'm in the camp that finds doing this sort of thing immature and rude. It's in the same category as the geddon bomb and bringing an infernal to ironforge. Nowhere near as fun or creative as stitches to darkshire.

Sort of. I mean it's accidental that people can intentionally infect a city in terms of blizzard's planning. But it's not accidental that people in ironforge get infected almost daily, it's due to people actively choosing to bring it to ironforge for fun. I can see it being fun and interesting the first time, but when it's happening on almost every server regularly, it's no longer fun and is just stupid and rude. Much like the infernal in ironforge or the geddon bomb. Fun the first time, annoying if people are doing it every single day.

all of sudden makes WoW a bit more lifelike, this shiz should happen in the SIMS....your whole block of sims get the plague.

That's awesome, atleast for the period when people didn't know what was going on. If people are abusing it now, which it sounds like they are, it then sucks.

Quite possibly the most awesome bug I've ever heard of.

I read about this plague thing the other day. Apparently to get it out of ZG, a hunter or possibly warlock too has to get their pet infected, then immediately tell their pet to go away (or whatever the term is, can't think right now). Then they can take their pet out later and it will be infected still!

Sounds like BB missed all the fun. Though I would have liked to have seen it once, I certainly don't want to see the plague hit repeatedly.

Before the fix you didn't need to be a hunter. You just needed a familiar, because for some unknown reason familiars could be infected (though they never take any damage). The first day of abuse, this is what a few people did. They fixed that and the hunter pet. I'm not sure how people are spreading it now, I guess they are going in groups and staying together at all times.

This is a great thing. The only decent thing Ive seen from WoW.

Reminds me of the undead plague in Wacraft 3. If Blizzard added in a hidden plague that diminished players powers then turned them into crazed undead beings, that would be funny and in-keeping with the Warcraft story.
