Eric, you shouldn't be too hard on Bush, he's only been in
office for less then 4 years and this problem has been around
for a little longer than that. Why didn't clinton do something, why because there wasn't a problem. Now that there's a problem, it's Bush's fault !!! Come on.
Were using 1950 technology's in 2003, Time to upgrade. It's everyone's Fault.
Not like I'm hard on Bush, or Clinton... I still think he's an idiot.
I still remember when he opted to pass up the more efficient (less Power) appliances like air conditioners, dishwashers, etc...etc... For Lower Prices... Yeah, they might cost less but they use twice as much energy. That is why you can buy 89-99.00 Air conditioners all day long tho you will be paying for it in the long run on the power bill. If bush was a real president he wouldn't be walking away from the green party. He's the biggest dork around. But, hey if he would just do the right thing like...
Give tax credits for installing alternative energy solutions....
Give tax credits for buying a Honda instead of the biggest SUV. How about a Fuel credit. Bring the gas price down to people with brains that offer to buy a car that can get 40+ MPG instead of some gas sucking 15 or less. If you drive a car that get's over 35MPG then you pay XXX amount of a gallon of gas. Tho if you choose to drive a gas hog then you get to pay higher.
I once read that solar panels have come a long way and you would only need a 100X100 mile solar panel grid to power the "entire" USA.
We need a leader, be it Clinton or bush... we need someone that is going to step up to bat. So far no one has done anything. The only thing Bush wants you to remember at the polls is how far we have come for fighting wars.... uh... yeah... That's what 99% of my vote is going. I'm hoping for a big change the next election if Bush can't do it (and it's pretty darn obvious that he can't) then maybe some one new will?
And now you are telling me not to be so hard on this a$$hole? After the econemy has taken a dump, and we have spent almost every available resource in fighting a war we can?t win? Oh we may kill many bad people... But there are 100 more countries just like Iraq that will be standing up to fill in the gap. ANYWAY.... The sad part is this is gonna cost 10's of BILLIONS of dollars more then likly 100's of Billions of dollars to fix the power grid in our nation. The reason why Clinton avoided it was because of the cost. Now that we have already raised the ceiling on the deficit... Where do you tink we will get the funds to fix this problem? Hmmm Maybe we ought to tax the crap out of the midleclass. Heck we already gave billions back to the rich. Hmmm you know social security is doing pretty good maybe we can barrow 50 billion from that? Don?t worry we can just push the age limit up to 85 before you start seeing benifits.
Face it were screwed....
Any takers on where Bush will find the money to upgrade the power grid? My Take? He won't. This will be avoided and passed back in fourth in congress like a hot patato... Then Bush will come up some sort of half baked plan on how to solve it for the next term. Mean while he is cutting 180 million civil service jobs... like the army corps of engineers for example. You know the people that actually make power? Keep the generators turning.... This is classic.
