I just got accepted for the joost beta... and I can confidently say that it's not what I was expecting. The interface feels slow and clunky, and it's not very intuitive at all.

The content is relatively old, 2005ish for a lot of things, and most of it is simply not that interesting. The National Geographic channel is alright, but the shows in there are even older than most of the other stuff on Joost. It's ok I guess, I guess I was just hoping for more recent NG material.

The guinness records channel is boring and dry, I thought it would be like the fox show that they had several years back, instead it's some british knockoff, and frankly, the record attempts are boring as hell. The Comedy Central Channel would be 10x better if they put some popular content on it, like south park, reno 911, and whatever else people watch on CC.

Joost has some potential, but the interface needs some major work, and the content needs to be updated regularly.

anyone know how long you have to wait to get invites once you are a member? just looking into how long it will take to give back to the community with the exception of montypythizzle, he doesn't get one.

i just got in joost myself (no i dont have any invites).

i have to say that other than first logging in and browsing what they had to offer, i havent logged back in since. there's simply nothing to watch at all unless you've never seen tv before. i only have broadcast tv, no cable, and i feel broadcast is better than joost. i think they have signed a deal with viacom so maybe there's hope for the future.

the buffering is pretty horrendous. the picture is only slightly better than youtube quality.

i think there's still hope though. but if your looking for stuff to watch it's easier to just go to all the major network sites and just watch all the stuff they have for free.

I just got on a few days ago, and unfortunately with the new version their are no invites. It appears the only way to get on is register on their website and wait a month or so like I did. So far I like it better than TVU, but thats not saying alot. And it does look like you could run through the content pretty fast.

Well, I'll jump onto the bandwagon and see if anyone has a Joost account to offer up as well.

But one question... I hate online video that does not allow you to buffer a good amount before it starts playing. My broadband is occasionally flaky and can't stream video. I've attempted to watch Lost off ABC's website and Heroes off NBC's website. Unfortunately, you can't buffer those like you can with YouTube, so it plays for 2 seconds then pauses.

Ok I have had Joost for a week or so now and it blows. Same damn crap on it all the time, one program on the Comedy Central channel, and it keeps giving me the damn disk full error all the time its annoying. Maybe if it takes off and gets more stuff on it, maybe, but as it is its a complete waste of time, and no one is missing anything special at all.

And no I don't have any invites, sorry, and if I did I wouldn't put you though that much torment.

I have Joost.

I dont really like it. I guess it's got potential. But it would basicly need to be super fast all the time, have tons more programs, and have a better quality picture and audio.
