I'd be pretty sure that he both has $8 cash and a checking account but since he said he took paypal he wants to send paypal, I don't blame him. And really if he gets some degree of protection either real or perceived by using a credit card I can see his point instead of sending cash or a check to someone with multiple negatives.

There is no way in hell I would take this guys credit card after he sent you an email like that. No fugging way. If he asked nicely and explained his situation without resorting to being a total ass I would have taken the card but not after that. It's about egos and him getting the best of you, don't let him do that, because the more this ass gets away with treating people so disrespectfully the more he thinks he has the right to.

Grant it you were wrong but come on, threatening you and whatnot, that is just too friggin much. Stand your ground, don't give in to this jerk.

Mail him the item and take the hit for 8 dollars. You're better off doing that than taking a 2% hit on all future PayPal transactions. That alone could easily add up to over eight bucks, especially if you use PayPal regularly.

You'll also make the buyer look like even more of an a$$ for creating a huge fuss over eight lousy bucks.

i say stick to the FS/T Forum here. Most of the people there are willing to work with you on deals, and its not as open as ebay is, which i havent dealt there ina while, UNLESS the NEED arises, avoid it like the plague...

The fact still remains that the buyer was hostile because he changed the terms of sale after the end of the auction, $8 or not you aren't supposed to do that and I'd be annoyed too. I can't believe you are making this much hassle over losing a dollar, and the guy even gave you an extra dollar, which he didn't have to do.
