WoW - Low level instances

Was looking for a list of instances that would be a good place for a level 31 priest to find a group. Currently I only know of the stockades in Stormwind.

You could start doing Gnomeregan.

Blackfathom Deeps in Ashenvale would be a good instance for your level, but it's hard to find a group some times. It's not a very popular instance.

You could try Gnomeregan, but you are a bit too low. You would probably save yourself some frustration if you wait until lvl 33-35.

It's probably ok for a priest to be 29 in gnomer, just have to watch out for the extended aggro range. But the rest of your party should be 35 or so.

I don't think stockades are worth it. I would actually recommend doing deadmines for the loot, though obviously not so much for the exp. BFD is definitely the most appropriate. The brain stems are a real pain to do though... I don't know what blizzard was thinking. That quest probably is the reason why no one does BFD much. Low drop rate AND everyone in the party needs 8. They should have made it like the shadowshard fragments in Mar - everyone gets one off a corpse.

Well, I only know the horde side... but as long as you aren't on a pvp server you shouldn't have much problem trying the horde dungeons. Actually for Wailing Caverns, alliance gets more quests that get completed in there then the horde does. So, if you aren't on a pvp server, try these:

Wailing Caverns
Shadow Fang Keep
Kraul

those should be decent enough for your level.

Can the alliance get any quests in shadow fang? Only one I know of is for the paladin mace. Wailing cavern quests are from ratchet?

There is a Warlock quest that has you go there and BFD. So, Alliance and Horde guys have to go into enemy territory to complete it...

Wailing Caverns quests you can get from Rachet. From the top of the cave in the right eye socket, is some neutral druid tailors with some quests. There are also 5 more major quests for the Wailing Caverns for the Alliance in each major alliance town. WAY more quests for wailing caverns for the alliance then there is for the horde.

As a priest, you should be fine in gnomer at level 29. I did it at 30-31 as a mage.

Just remember the Gnomeregan mantra: after the workshop, hug the left wall. Otherwise you risk a party-wiping mob train.

Yeah... how do you avoid that party wiping train? The little alarm bots got me both times I have tried that. Is there a way to stop alarm bots from bringing the whole zone?

Kill them very fast. Usually we had a mage on lookout for them.

Level 29 is a bit high to do Wailing Caverns. Most of it won't give experience. The beginning part of Shadowfang Keep will also give no experience at level 29, but Arugal at the end is tough and needs people in the upper 20's to defeat (at least from what I can remember). I can't remember what levels I did Blackfathom Deeps (lower) or Razorfen Kraul (higher), but I think they are both options at 29. I'm Horde so I don't know where to get the RFK quests if you are Alliance. Just check Throttbot.

When they start sounding off, drop everything and kill it ASAP. It only takes one hit most of the time. A way to avoid having them come around is to stay close to the walls, if you are at the part I think you are. That will also keep you from aggroing the patrols. The patrols and alarms can ruin your blissful trip through the gnome city in a real hurry.

It's too bad Blackfathom Deeps is unpopular. I thought it was a fun one. The ending chambers were something out of an H.P. Lovecraft story.

starting at lvl30 you should being doing SM (for horde that is). not sure if alliance has quests there.

Only quests for SM don't involve the undead instance and should only be done with at the minimum high 30's. As far as I know there are only 3 quests for SM alliance, and 1 is class specific. Another is a book in doan's instance, and the other is to kill the major bosses of the 3 hard instances.

Thanks for the tips on alarms.

Shadowfang has 22-25 enemies, from what I've seen. Only been as far as the stables, because I never had any other quests there.

I don't know alliance quests for for SM you should do graveyard at 30, lvl34+ for library, 36+ for armory, 39+ for cath.

Yeah, but the only meaningful alliance quest involves 3 of the 4 instances and killing their bosses... the one for the boak in the library is not really worth running all the way to tirisfal glades in the low to mid 30's. But the loot drops from the bosses are, as is the loot reward for that quest.

They need to improve the stockades. It's just a really lame instance with generally very weak loot.

It's the undead starting area. From alterac, go north where the lake meets land, then around the keep west (briefly into silverpine I think) and then into tirisfal to the northeast corner.

The best quest for it begins with a quest in desolace to kill 20 undead. Then the next step begins in southshore.

Yes, I thought Blackfathom Deeps was interesting. Also, the mass zerg events to open the doors after killing the orc caster boss was fun. Remember the trick is to light all 4 candles all at the same time.

P.S. Don't light the candles all at the same time. Only light one, then kill the mobs that come. Then light another, kill the mobs, etc. etc.
