Do you know the type of breast cancer ie invasive ductal, invasive lobular, DCIS, LCIS? That can determine outcome as well as receptor status of the tumor.
Thank you all for your support.
I believe it is mixed ductal/lobular... and we aren't sure if the tumor is progesterone, estrogen, or HER2 receptive.... because she's black, she's more likely to have the triple negative type cancer... which is really hard to fight...
They aren't giving us many results right now because most doctors are on vacation for the upcoming three day break...
We have an appointment first thing Tuesday morning with a surgeon to decide our options... what concerns me is that everyone seems to be hush, hush... not a lot of information is being given, no idea of a prognosis... so I'm just worried that it's just *that* bad that they have to sit us down first...
She'll get through it just hang in there. You have to think positive and as another member mentioned from personal experience you have to really be there for the person in these times (seems you're doing a fantastic job though ) As far as the doctors' secretive nature with cancer it's very hard sometimes to precisely diagnose and identify everything as you mentioned. Sometimes you just have to wait which is usually the hard part.
