very different scenario

People who didn't know much about Ledger just couldn't picture him as Joker and thus were worried about the casting, whereas with Affleck, most people just think he sucks as an actor and see this as a money grubbing move to acquire star power and to appeal to girls or something stupid rather than finding a truly exceptional actor for the role to actually emulate what was done with casting Ledger as the Joker.

I HATE Affleck but his accolades and accomplishments seem to contradict you.

plus they can always add as many abs and even nipples to the batsuit as they so desire

Is that all that's required? Why'd Bale bother bulking up for Batman after his extreme bulk-down for The Machinist?

So are we back to the Joel Schumacher/Batman cycle?

Affleck can act in a serious role. I think he will be fine as a young Bruce Wayne.
But we are talking about also being Batman here. Unless he is going to bulk up, I can't really see a skinny Batman beating down on Superman.
Remember the Superman/Batman writers quoted this line during Comic-Con:
"I want you to remember, Clark…in all the years to come…in your most private moments…I want you to remember…my hand…at your throat…I want…you to remember…the one man who beat you."
I just don't see Affleck delivering that line convincingly as Batman.

idk, I always hate when Batman in the comics is portrayed with bulging muscles like a heman figure. eg:

I always think of the character as closer to being a ninja than a pro-wrestler... and it's not as if Batman v Superman would ever be a physical fight.

they're adding Lex to Bats vs Supes?

Now i'm confused as to the plot

rumor is that Cranston signed a 6-movie deal and may be Nick Fury-esque (where he'll be in the movies, but not necessarily as a main character)

The thing is that in addition to being one of the world's premier martial artists and detectives he is also doing a lot of moving around that can be thought of as gymnastic.

Looking at some images of male gymnasts

It's not totally impossible that Bruce Wayne's training regimen would produce that general physique.

Especially if Bruce Wayne has a middling metabolic rate and not the fastest one where no matter how much he eats he won't gain weight.

Take another look at the picture Loki posted and take note of how far Bat's chest sticks out. It's not human.

I'm not saying comic books never exaggerate anything... come on it's a comic.

Just pointing out that it's possible that Batman, despite being a world class martial artist (according to the comics), doesn't have to be skinny and cut like Bruce Lee. He could very well be bulky and move incredibly quickly for his size

It's a comic they're going to exaggerate body physique... this should not even be a teeth gnashing debate or even have gotten even 2 replies for the subject within a subject (perhaps not even one).

So I'll just leave it at that observation (that comics exaggerate everything, including physiques) and feel free to say I'm totally wrong if you wish.

I'm really not worried about it at all. Just like with all comic book movies, I'll hope it doesn't suck and probably see it anyway. At least as of late, it seems like DC's best visual media (ignoring comics) is either animated or on TV. They're going to introduce Barry Allen (The Flash) into Arrow during season two in three different episodes (two earlier, one later), which will end up spinning off to a separate show for The Flash on CW. I always liked The Flash (even the 90s TV show...); I hope they push for the New 52 look as I like the slight modernization.

You guys are pathetic, do you ever really notice it? You're debating the anatomical impossibilities created by some artist that doesn't have an ounce of muscle on his own body. It's a comic book.

LOL- I'm just so used to seeing it here I don't really pay attention anymore.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, Lex is president and Supes goes rogue.

That wouldn't work well. We don't know Lex in this movie yet. They can't just introduce him, make Superman hate him, and then he becomes president and all hell breaks loose. That wouldn't flow well at all. They should introduce Lex, make Batman/Superman have a common foe, Lex gets away clean during the scuffle, and gives the ultimate "FU" to Superman by gaining the public trust and becoming president.

The NEXT movie would have Superman vs President Lex.

Hmm... seems like they're going for the old man batman comic look. Which I think could work since Affleck is over 40.

First thing I've seen from this movie that didn't make me go 'Ugh' immediately. Even if the ears look a little small and I was never a fan of the DKR Bat symbol.
