What really pisses me off is the home crowd undieing loyalty when crap like this happens. Haynesworth gets an unsportsmanlike conduct flag for stomping a guy twice in the head... and the crowd boos like no tomorrow the call. He could have ripped off the guy's head/spinal cord Mortal Kombat style and NFL fans would still think it was an unjust call.
I love the NFL as much as anyone, but we as fans are pretty fawkin retarded.
Oh really? I thought they were booing Nothingsworth for his actions.

Like I said stop overreacting. This is football and ****** like this goes on all the time in piles (grabbing testicles, trying to break fingers) that's how it is. And, if you don't like it and the physical play and violence and hatred during the game, then as they say....go play soccer.
5 Game suspension at most, as stomping is pretty bad.
I play soccer . Stuff like that happens also. People grab testicles, punch the kidneys, elbow to sensative areas, kick shins (not as unpainful as it may sound), and such whenever they can get away with it. Granted football is definitely much more physical, it's not as if soccer is a "sissy" sport like so many people think. If you don't like it physical, play golf .
I through my clubs at the other golfers and their caddies all the time when they make a good shot and I miss, if you don't like, go play badmitten!

People are expecting their opponents to go after them in the pile or on the field during a play. No one expects someone to come up, kick off your helmet, then stomp on your face twice well after the whistle was blown without any provocation. This it not like the warran sapp hit a few years back. Some of you apologists need to rethink your attitude. Sounds like you'd be ok if the guy had pulled out a shiv and stabbed the guy in the throat 4 times.

heh even his coach said they will make sure he is severly punished. yeah what he did is going to come back on him one way or another.
The coach called Haynesworth's actions unacceptable and promised he would be punished by the Titans even if the NFL disciplines him.
"It's ridiculous to get to that point. Two back-to-back penalties like that, there's no place for it," Fisher said.

It sounded like the coach was more concerned with the 2 penalties:

5 games is not enough but it's still more than I was expecting.

BTW, 5 games is the longest suspension for an on-field incident in the NFL history.

I knew it'd be some lame-ass slap on the wrist. Why, I'd love to be able to stomp on some guys face and face no criminal action for it. I guess the way to achieve this is to be a pro sports player.

That penalty is total BS.
I'm sure they are tempering the punishment because Gurode's injuries aren't as bad as they could have been. But IMO the intent was there, and he could have killed or permanantly injured him.
Personally I would ban him for life, but a 1yr suspension at least was justified for the crime.

Kill? So you thought Haynesworth's intent was to kill/permanently injure Gurode? I mean, I saw the maliciousness, but he could have done a lot worse than just a stomp.
