I can't get to battle.net site for the "continued updates"

And this fvcking downloader has been going at it for over 2 hours and is at a whole 100mb, 18k/sec AWESOME!

My bittorent that was linked here switches between 0kb/s and 1.5kb/s. I almost downloaded a mb. 56 days left.

I hit the character code entry several times, just couldn't get through that before I had to leave. I think I would have gotten through if I could have stuck with it.

Open Beta starts today.
Fileplanet subscribers were able to get in sooner.
You need a free fileplanet account to download off their site. BUT you do not need a paying account to download WoW.

nevermind.....just a little tip...as long as WoW.com is having problems...check back to file planet...it looks like they are occasionally coming back and releasing extra keys...

So now I have the client installed, patched to the current version, and have a key from fileplanet but I still can't play because I don't have an account. WoW.com needs to come back up.

No kidding, I just went on at 7:20pm eastern, got my account in one shot (a few hours after the inital closing of beta openings). I posted here that people should run and get one....literally within a minute or two, it was closed again. Makes me feel like a jerk - and look like a liar - but honestly I was only trying to let you fellas in on my good fortune. So if it's not out of the way, I would suggest hoping on fileplanet.com once in a while just to see if they offer any more as time goes on. I am assuming it only happened because WoW is down and they want to draw some people away from the site if it is still getting hammered. The thing is, when it reopened on FP it said it in small lettering under the photo, so they didn't make it big deal or anything.....

Thanks. Fileplanet just came back up. I'm 161/161, so we'll see how long it takes.
