I wish thieves here would get beat downs. Instead, the victims are blamed for not having locked their stuff well enough and the thieves are not even punished at all. It's ridiculous. Right now there's a big epidemic of bikes being stolen but also random stuff from people's cars, whether or not they are locked. They will go right in people's back yards and steal stuff too, sometimes even breaking into sheds. There is no risk because the police won't do anything other than tell the victims sucks to be you, so they know they can get away with it.

Which reminds me I should get an alarm sensor for my shed. I wanted a door that opens to the outside and kinda forgot about the security aspect of that. It's super easy to just undo the latch from outside with a credit card or something. Suppose I could change the lock for a deadbolt though. But even then they'll just cut a hole through a wall or something, they don't care, because the police don't care. If you catch them and try to stop them, then you're the one that gets in trouble for assault.

So, you guys really can't use firearms for self defense and protecting your property, eh? You can have them with certain restrictions, but they have to be maintained in an inoperable condition. Well, that sucks if and when you may need them.

That's one of the things I don't agree with here, we can't really defend ourselves as we don't have castle laws. It's not so much the lack of guns - I don't care about that part, I'd be more than happy if they simply allowed us to use any force available such as blunt trauma via melee weapon. But if you do, it's assault. I'd probably do it anyway though, deal with the consequences after. Idealy if you use reasonable force and can make it look like an accident, you MIGHT be able to get away with it. At least that's what one cop told me once. Essentially they don't really vouch for the thieves or anything, it's just that the current law system pretty much makes them have their hands tied. They just can't do anything.

We have that problem in California. Welcome to liberal paradise.

You might remember Governor Jerry Brown extending the life of Prop 47 last November. It doesn't expire until 2022. Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer says there's no doubt Prop 47 is playing a leading role in what he sees day in and day out.

"There's an individual we have arrested 83 times since Prop 47 has passed, all on petty thefts, 83 times," said Dyer.

I lean left on most things, but right on most firearm issues. Criminals should fear the possible consequences when they are on your property.
Florida sucks though. And no, I'm not going outside with a knife or bat. I want distance between me and whoever as I attempt to identify them. I really don't think that the thief is going to obey the law.

idk, i don't really have anything against guns but i'd much rather just make an insurance claim than shoot someone

and i do know i'd much rather live in a place where nobody's carrying vs. a wild-west-esque place where everyone's carrying

I'd rather have some way to keep people from stealing that have to fill out claims all the time or lose an item that cannot be replaced.

Maybe dogs?

Not aware of an insurance claim you can really make for most things that are robbed? Regardless they have to meet a deductible threshold, so if your home is worth $500k, and your deductible is 2% you would need a minimum of $10,000 worth of items you can individually claim.

Personally... I just like not having jack shit worth stealing other than maybe my computer... and no one wants a fucking full ATX tower anymore anyways Would be too much to carry anyhow.

My TV is an old as shit plasma 42" that works fine - but is still pretty fat and heavy.... jewelry wise I have nothing really valuable. Most valuable is the engagement ring which is worn all the time.

Also having a dog that sounds ferocious helps. What doesn't help is when we open the door and he cuddles complete strangers afterwards... but before then he will sound ferocious atleast

Update:
https://nypost.com/2018/07/27/mcdon...n-was-talking-a-lot-of-smack-before-beatdown/

They charged the beatee with battery:

"Laura Meltzer, a spokeswoman for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, confirmed to The Post that Fontelar was issued a citation for misdemeanor battery and will need to appear in court at a later date."

They charged the McD employee with battery? What the fuck... If you instigate (throwing a milkshake and committing verbal assault), self defense should be completely accepted.

Sorry, but this is just fucking wrong. You see the stupid stripper/hooker get up and try to instigate again with the chair. One was CLEARLY defending, the other was CLEARLY offending.

Someone needs to start a Gofund me for - that's one I would chip in on. The world is fucked up.

Oh good. Justice served then.

Sorry - It was this sentence that confused me then because it sounded to me like Chavolla was the one being charged - and for the life of me I can't get either of their names straight either.

Chavolla said she wasn’t even planning on hitting Fontelar, who said on social media that she was charged with battery in connection with the fight.

That world doesn't exist. I'm not a gun nut, but I do own firearms. Part hobby, part self defense. I've got a license to carry, but I'm not strapped 24/7. I just want to be able to have it with me when I'm on the road (read: to protect myself from Trump supporters) and when I'm staying at a hotel.

So, I'm not going to make fun of you for having anti gun feelings. I'm a sane law abiding veteran who just wants to be able to defend my family and property if necessary. Unlike those nuts in Florida, I don't go looking for trouble.

Did you ever consider that maybe a beating would deter petty thievery better than get processed thru today's legal system with no real consequences?

I think regardless of the circumstances that skinny girl deserves a round of applause for hanging in the fight against a sumo and a mini sumo. She didn't cry, pull a gun, knife and resorted to use only what she had or had around her.

The sumo and mini sumo should get honorable mention for not resorting to guns and attempting to to handle matters on their own.

Too many times in America a coward doesn't even pick a fight before slaughtering people with a semi-automatic weapon from afar. These woman are throw backs to a by gone era.

I believe every SANE gun owner would enjoy living in a world where guns were never needed for self-defense. Hunting, target and sport shooting would be plenty for me if we lived in such a world.

that is a grey area in the law here. There have been 2 cases recently about the use of deadly force to protect property and lives. Both ended in acquittals and both caused joy and outrage.

Where do I find the uncensored version? I feel like I’m not getting the full trailer trash beatdown experience with blurred out boobies.

Every sane person should want that regardless if they were a gun owner or if they depend on other people with guns to defend them.

With that said, I fear that world is a long time away at best and more likely will never come to be.

Stine was arrested and booked with four misdemeanors including resisting arrest, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He was also charged with felony robbery for the incident and is being held on an additional $50,000 bond.

Looks like they charged him with felony robbery.

I work in fast food and one of the stupidest things you could is to start a fight. Seriously, if you don't get your ass kicked by staff, you may get it kicked by other patrons or heaven help you, by the police.
