Ive started playing WoW as somone gave me a 60 day game card and the game for xmas. I was told the rogue is cheap and wins in pvp so i went a human rogue on a pvp server. All i want to do is get to a decent level, get decent gear, go over to kalimdor and beat on lower levels who wander into contested territory.

But im stuck.... Theres no quests i can do anymore, im level 19 and the deadmines are too difficult, i cant take on more than one monster at a time, ive done all the easy quests over in lakeshire and all the difficult ones are left, like kill that boar and kill yowler etc. What am i gonna do now? Sitting around levelling sounds real boring... anything else i can do? anywhere else i can go?

Sitting around leveling sounds like all MMORPG's. Find some friends.
Wetlands is a good place at lvl 19.

You sound like you're soloing.. yes you can go to the Wetlands and other areas, but you really should group up with some people and then you'll progress further. You can go to the Deadmines by joining a group.. it would be a good idea cause you'll get some decent gear (for your level) by finishing the mines.

To be honest. I played WoW since the beta and just quit for good. I never really played alot. To me it's just boring. Run here run there do this do that grind grind grind. ****** boring to me. I installed Company of Heroes and have been having a blast. WoW is done and over for me. And I couldn't be happier.

Heh... groups... yeah. Ive tried 3 times in 3 seperate groups to finish the deadmines, im not complaining here as it was a laugh each time but it didnt really get me anywhere.

First time it was lvl 15 me lvl 12 guy and a lvl 18 dwarf. The level 12 got scared and turned back before we even reached the instance, it was like in a movie, where theres always the guy who goes "we've gone too far! lets turn back now!!" and the dwarf and i died fighting elites near the instance portal.

Second time, with renewed vigor! I came back with a new group and with a lvl 18 character, this time we were stronger, there was a lvl 24 dwarf and a few other at 16-20. We got through the instance portal and after a few minutes of fighting people started to die off and i noticed this so i quickly killed the miner i was fighting and stealthed. A minute later i was left all alone yelling in general chat "IS ANYONE ALIVE DOWN HERE?? ANYONE???" with no response. So i tried to sneak out, got caught and subsequently beaten to hell.

Third time the party was crashed by some horde. Somone attacked them, they killed half our people, i ran off scared. Theyre everywhere on my server! Last night i was waiting alone for a train, and around 10 horde got off the train i was waiting for, after they finished sexually harassing my character (they surrounded me for ages blowing kisses and waving cause my chars a female blonde) they left to go trash stormwind.

So yeah, back to the point, i tried groups and failed to make progress. Its ok though im making progress by doing easy quests in lakeshire and duskwood. Level 21 now

I would agree - I found games like CoH much more engaging than WoW. To each his own however

I would wait to go to wetlands. Just use General chat in the different zones to try and find others to help with your quests. Example: /1 "LFG to kill Yowler", etc. Do this while grinding mobs or finishing up other quests and you can save alot of time and avoid standing around not getting any XP.

Yeah, you have a LOT to learn before you go on to becoming a punk-ass rogue running around harassing lowbies. If you get a friend or 2 to play with you a couple hours a night, you would be friggin' amazed at how fast you can level. 2 hours a night and a little more on the weekends and you'll probably be at 60 in 2 months. Instancing is your friend. You make good money, get good drops and lots of exp. You'll want to start picking up blue items ASAP from instances. Don't forget quests, though. Especially class-specific quests, you'll get fabulous rewards for those. Pick herbalism and alchemy for professions, they seem to bring in the most money per effort. (Everybody likes potions). You can get other professions later for your other characters to cover more bases, but you've got to get yourself some cash first and foremost.

I started out a Paladin and ran with 2 of my friends every other night or so. Let me tell you, Pally/Priest/Warlock is a KILLER combo. Grabbing 2 more groupies for an instance is pretty easy. Furthermore, keep searching for a guild that is full of people who like to run instances. A couple months ago I got into Zahir (Skullcrusher server, alliance side) and the people in that guild have been SPECTACULAR. When you use guildies to fill up your instance group you get to run with people that you can trust and who you KNOW are good (read: won't bail on you halfway through an instance unless their mother is on fire). Typically they will level the same speed as you, so you get to run with familiar people all through your levels if you keep up. It just makes your entire situation better.

Hit up thottbot.com and wowwiki.com for help with finding quest stuff and deciding which instances to hit so that you get the best equipment possible. Also, you can get some pretty spectacular equipment if you do the PVP battlegrounds, too.

The secret to success as a lowbie is to run with a friend or 2. Learn about the game, too. Make sure to spec your character's talent tree according to your style. As far as instancing, my BIGGEST nugget of advice is to DO YOUR JOB. Focus on doing what you are supposed to do. Be the best tank possible if you are tanking, be the best healer possible if you are healing, and RACK up the damage if you are a rogue. Your job is straight-up DPS and sapping. Believe me when I tell you, people will remember you if you do a great job and you have good manners. Good players have a tendency to find other good players and stick together.

--long winded, but I hope I helped.

At your level, cross the pond in Loch Modan, in the hills to the north is a bunch of elite ogers. Find a friend and get the quests and grind um. Lots of xp killing elites. Also the dwarfs near the bridge in wetlands will give you a challenge and lots of xp. Most of those quest can be got right there before the bridge. Look for a bunch of dwarf firing their guns at enemies from behind cover. If you can talk a high lv into it, they can walk you thru Deadmines, ive done it alot for lowbies, and just let you loot every thing. you will get rich quick. Just dont aggro nothing if you do, stay back, let the lv 60 kill everything, you will just make it harder cause he has to run back cause the patrols are blocking you.

You can have a 60 walk you through, but that will seriously nerf your exp. Do that when you want to just run a dungeon over and over to get an item, money, or for help with a quest inside a dungeon. Experience is what you really want, that's what eliminates your n00bness and gets you on your way to lvl 60 and beyond.

Good luck, do it up FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!
