Wow !! the demo for Geforece 3 with Doom3 ??

I think Doom III is scheduled to be released this Christmas or early next year. The GeForce III should cost about $300-250 at that time to compete with something new from ATI.

Eh, looked okay. Carmack is kinda like The Simpson's nerdy scientest character that does a Jerry Lewisesque "gah-hey". And yes, Job's is a cheesy used car/HSN salesman. I don't get excited about vapor. ID's previous games have been uninspiring, though technically good I think we can agree. Make Rogue Spear with that graphics quality and then I may be persuaded to become moist but just another fantasy run 'n' gun does nothing for me.

Wow, that demo is STUNNING!!! Too bad for GeForce 3, I ain't going to get one. Maybe wait for the "Ultra" version, or "Pro", etc...

Also, Doom3 for Christmas and the card is coming out in March?! Sh*t, I'll wait until the Doom3 is released, nVidia releases the GeForce3 Ultra or GeForce 4 and then we'll see what I get. Hopefully ATI can bust on in here and kick some a$$! Damn, we need a freakin' third player in this video card war! Can't some Intel or IBM engineers get together and give nVidia a run for their money. Sh*t, Intel build more than chips, why not video cards?! Lord knows they have the money to compete!

it's ok.. That pixar demo is somewhat impressive, though I don't think it's quite as good as the real one on Pixar movies (can't have it all!).

I just wish I could have seen what the Rampage could have done..

btw, as with quake 3, Doom looks to be a game I won't care about, except possibly for benchmarking the Geforce 3 (why oh why did they keep that name?).

I'm holding my breath for space sims, strategy games, racing games like Gran Turismo for the PC, and things like that.. I'm not too big on FPS games, though I'm ok at em (I beat everyone in my class at school in UT on Celeron 500's, though the computer kept crashing, so I couldn't get into a good rythme.. ahh well, I enjoyed fast non-laggy action for once in my life), I certainly will get next to nothing out of them becuase I'm not capable of getting any sort of broadband out here..

Heh that's the first time I'd heard him, too. Carmack sounds like someone is scrunching his sac. Oh well he could wipe my ass with vertices, 3d textures, real-time lighting, etc. and do it all at a decent framerate.
