Wow... this is just a really bad idea.

I've never even owned a bike, but it does look like bad engineering to me.

I wouldn't try it out, let alone own it.

They custom build show bikes all the time, and ride them.
On the other hand that pile of junk does not look the least bit viable.
Chain drive engine on a shaft drive bike, how was that ever a good idea?
Looks like a mock up, and a really ugly one.

So a piece of rod to retain the swingarm and act as footpegs. Nice. Looks like it's even a hollow tube.

I was looking at that for a while myself. It doesn't look like the swingarm is attached to the frame above but that "swingarm" looks really weak and flimsy. The way the motor is connected to the rest of that 34 year old frame is even more WTF.

Not seeing the problem here. Ad says it's a Honda frame with a Ducati engine.

And? How many people have put an engine from one manufacturer into the frame/body of another? People do it with Mustangs all the time, by putting Chevy motors in them.

I will admit to not being that familiar with this type of motorcycle, but merely swapping a motor into one shouldn't be that big a deal.

Well, for one thing, the engine this guy is trying to mount in that frame was designed to be a structural member of the bike. The frame he's attempting to attach it to was designed to cradle an engine that is not a structural part of the bike. He has cut away parts of the bike that mount the rear suspension and is locating them on the Ducati engine but that engine is just hanging off the top of a 34 year old Honda frame he has cut the bottom portion out of and replaced with a couple brackets hanging off the top of a single spine backbone type frame. It's a really really really bad design.

Not all junk. On the admittedly small chance that motor isn't huffed, it would be very cool to have.

But which motor is it? I've lusted for a Ducati for decades but am not an expert. I've never heard of an 800. 748 and 900 yea, but not an 800. But was the 748 air cooled? Sooooooooo, 900SS? Maybe a Monster? Whatever it is, I'd take it.

It is an air-cooled 2 valve motor. Yeah, it's probably worth a few hundred dollars. They don't make a lot of power but they're good reliable motors as long as it is taken care of. They're easy to work on too.

Not sure what bike would have had this motor originally (I think there was an 800SS). Whatever it was would be a lot cooler than what he's trying to put it into though for sure.

lol it's a bad idea putting an 80 hp engine in a chassis designed for a 20 hp bike. With brakes and suspension almost 20 years prior to the engine... What could go wrong?

Looks like tweaker engineering. It's amazing what you can do when you don't sleep.
