:music: Citizens of hope & glory,
Time goes by - it's the time of your life.
Easy now, sit you down.
Chewing through your wimpey dreams,
They eat without a sound;
Digesting England by the pound.

I'm 23 and sometimes still feel amazed how fast the teenage years went. It seems once you get out of high school time flies way too fast, and now that I've been done college for 2 years it goes even faster. I recently bought a house and still can't believe I made it up to this point in life. Will be nice once the house is ready and I move in and have it all to myself. I just hope I can at least enjoy a few more years of being single and stress free before a wife comes into play.

Congrads on the house. I'm having hard enough time securing a fixed rate mortgage.

I turned 45 back in March and like to feel 25 every day but you know you cannot beat the clock regardless of how much money you have or who you know...

I know the majority of posters on this forum are very young. Enjoy your youth! It's something you can never get back once it's gone!

Yes you can. Look at Cher.

No you can't. Look at Cher.

Your statement indicates you're brain dead already. Counseling can't help the no longer sentient. Just put a plastic bag over your head and let your body catch up.

Sweet thing, you must not have kids...As soon as you have kids, time starts racing by...The older they get, the faster it goes.

My wife & I have been married for 34 years this past June...and it almost seems like it was only 350 years ago...
Seriously, it seems like only yesterday her dad held a shotgun to by head while I said, "I do."

time accelerates as you age!

maybe less 'new' things for your brain? i dont know, but it sucks

Einstein already solved this one. The faster you go, the slower time goes. But when you get older and slower, time goes faster.

aging theory of relativity? a [insert unit of time] gets shorter and shorter relative to your age the more you age.

I'm turning 24 next week... I feel like I'm absolutely hemorrhaging time and youth

Most of my friends are 30 and getting married, having babies, etc. And to think that in just 5 years I'm kind of expected to be at that stage... it sucks. 5 years is approximately 5 seconds. I will never be able to reach their level of success in 5 years either

Success is being happy in life. Don't let anyone tell you any different.

Yes, and that's what I'm trying to reach. For me, happiness is composed of freedom and the youth/time to exercise such freedom. That takes money, enough money or passive income to not have to work. Most people don't have a choice whether or not to work or when to work. That's not freedom.

Just a few days ago I did a photography job for the founder of Infinity Ward (Call of Duty). Retired at 30. My brother in law was an extremely high ranking member of JEDEC in his 20's. He was jet-setting all over the world and having a global impact, a personal hand, in all the memory markets. Now he's the co-owner to the largest house staging company in California and possibly the entire United States. And that's just his bread and butter to cover the son he's expecting next week. He's got other business ideas that he's working on now and plans to retire very comfortably by 40. If he didn't have a kid and instead had my simple requirements for happiness, he could retire right this moment because his staging company already runs itself.

I'm 25, and even though it makes my weekends feel shorter, I still party my face off.

Well, good luck finding your happiness.

I'm very fortunate in life. I used to be very poor, almost homeless. I told myself that I would be happy with a job that I liked, a roof over my head, food, and enough income to not literally worry myself sick at night.

I have those things now, and I really want for nothing. I feel really lucky.

Thanks, I was in a good position so managed to get a fixed rate at 3.75%. Been saving up for about 2 years (well, since I started working basicly). One thing I learned, it's not the house downpayment or the lawyer fees that are expensive, it's all the repairs and renovations that simply can't wait till later. Make sure you got at least 10k on the side just for this alone.

I just can't wait to be moved in so it's more official, keep running into roadblocks which is slowing things down, from mold to potential structural issues to fix. It's all part of the real world though, it's never a smooth ride.

I'm 29 with a wife and kid. Started to get the occasional grey hair in the last few years. Also my hair is thinning.

I feel life is a bit of a struggle at times to be honest. But then I think to what life is like for billions of people around the world and feel guilty for feeling that way.

I'm actually trying to get BACK to a homeless state, but to have a business that can afford me that kind of state without having to worry about running out of money. My jackpot would be having a business or enough passive income from investments that could give me freedom to live essentially homeless while still put enough money into 401K, savings for health problems later, etc. Travel from country to country, sleep in hostels, camp in the wilderness, and still make money in the background. To have money coming in while traveling instead of burning into your savings (the principal) while doing so.

If I did need to have a home, it may be in some RV, a cabin, a tree house, or some other cheapo thing that I can hopefully own instead of paying into the black hole that is rent.

I used to live on ~$7 a day on the road. No rent, utilities, lodging, etc. Just gas and food. But no income was coming in. Net loss of the principal. Now that I'm in one place and working, my expenses have jumped to at least $1000 a month / $33 a day and I'm only breaking even or having a small net gain while being trapped in one area with concrete all over the place and doing the same things every day.

Yep marriage and kids takes a lot away from life. I'm not even married yet but I just see it from others. I really do not look forward to that day. Not to mention I don't like the idea of someone coming into my life and automatically owning everything I got and making all the decisions, it will be like living with my parents again.
