Does anyone know if they've fixed Zul'Farak yet? The 3 times I've been in there so far my entire group has gotten stuck in combat the entire time. Granted, it was nice being able to have a full rage bar when I enter battle, it makes it rather difficult to rez people when you're on the far side of the instance.

I'm hoping that Blizzard starts creating more Raid type quests (like killing Blightcaller and the Battle for Darrowshire). It took us 3 tries to kill Blightcaller after he wiped all 25 of us, but was about the most fun I've had on a quest yet. I've had fun doing 10-15 man raids on Scholomance, though I've yet to go through in a 5 man group in order to complete the quests there.

Did Uldaman this weekend. We wiped on the final batle and gave up. I did get grimlok's charge, though.

Later that night I was invited to a maraudon group. A few deaths here and there, but we completed the instance portion. I obtained some Infernal Trickster Leggings - Mail, +20agi +8int (something like that), +4 to bow skills. Went well with the bow reward, though I had to train bow skill up from 90 (which wasn't as bad as training polearm up from zero).

Hopefully some day I will actually get to do zul or finish uldaman.

Trick is to ignore his minions and just burn him - they'll despawn upon his death.

No Blizzard did not fix the 'stuck in combat bug' in Zul'Farak. I was in there on Sunday and it occurred to us. We didn't make the entire loop around the instance so I can't be 100% sure, but it looks to be only a bug with one mob. He is about halfway from the beginning of the instance to the point where you reach the loop and need to choose to go right or left. He is standing on a block of stone facing a wall on the left hand side and will be doing goofy things like continually casting or attacking the wall. Just bypass him by going along the right hand wall. He cannot be killed. We had to logout to get rid of being in combat.

I'll admit that the pickup group I was in was actually pretty bad (tank couldn't hold aggro, healer waiting too long to heal then letting people die with having full mana) but we were all from 47 to 49, yet we wiped on both Antu'Sul and the temple zerg-fest after freeing Bly (we tried to keep talking to him to get him to turn hostile, but it wouldn't happen, even after about 10 minutes of it). Antu'Sul we didn't even get a good try at because even though he is back in the cave, get even close to the entrance (which we did while fighting a mob outside) and he aggro's and summons a sh!tload of basilisks. Even though I wanted to try again prepared, I was outvoted and we bypassed him later to get to the temple. Does anyone have any tips on beating him or surviving the troll zerg on the temple? Or any tip on how to get Bly hostile while still in the cage? I think for the temple, a mage or even a warlock with good aoe would have helped. I tried to use my fire totem aoe, as well as immolation potions and even dynamite (goblin fishing poll), but we were overwhelmed (although we did kill alot, so I'm not sure how close we came to surviving it). After the wipe, I gave up and figured I'd be better off trying it again later with a better group.

That's what we were doing, didn't work out. He was almost dead, but the final minions got us while we were trying to finish him off.

Yea, Uldaman can be a pain. What we did was put a tank, healer, and hunter on the main guy at first. The other two kill the minions as they spawn. Once the final minions spawn everyone just wails on the boss. If you are a high enough level usually you can kill him quick enough.

We were 42-49. The above plan is almost exactly what we did, though one of us (me) tried to hold off the minions a bit as well. I am guessing the team that we took into maraudon would have wiped the floor with this instance.

this weekend i had my 58 troll shaman and 52 tauren warrior finally take me through SM. we did all the sections and i got the illusionary rod to drop (46 UD warlock here). i was really happy about that. we whipped right through the instances and made some pretty good bank too.

i have yet to do uldaman, though i will need to go over there to get my enchanting training. what a bitch to put that guy in the middle of the instance... at least my friends will help me get there cuz they are waiting for their leet enchants.

ive also got a bunch of zul quests in my log that need to be cleared out. going into the weekend i had 17 quests, 15 were elite, 1 was orange, and the other was completed...

i dont get to do instances too much bc i only have large chunks of time open on the weekends

im not *exactly* sure. i looked online and found a map, and he appears to be right in the middle of the instance, though maybe a bit closer to the back entrance. i also read that there are some scorpids that have to be cleared out in his area before he shows up. hopefully i will get in there tonight and will have a better answer.

it sucks that i am going to have to do this everytime i want to train...

Hm interesting. I didn't see him. Perhaps we had to take another path through the instance. I do remember the scorpids.

Uldaman can be a lot of fun. The loot isn't that great but the lore is really cool.

Zul Farak can be a pain in the ass. A lot of the encounters are decieving for their levels, such as the post-executioner part, the basilisk guy in the cave, or the scarabs. These oddities push people towards not enjoying this zone at all. ZF is one of those zones where it is more fun to come back to level 54 or so and do the zone rather than trying to do it at 48.

Maraudon is a really nice zone. Very well made and the loot is extremely good, some of the loot even to the point of being overpowered. There is a ton of bosses so it is practically a monty haul dungeon.

Try to get all your quests done in each zone, it is worth experiencing and a challenge in and of itself IMO. The boss of Uldaman is really cool.

I just did ZF - did gahzrilla and some people had to do Divino matic rod. The fight with Bly and those hundreds of trolls was so insane and probably the most fun I've had in wow so far. It was a good 15 minutes of fighting and the guy at the bottom drops this sweet bad mojo mask that I won. I am 53 but the group was high 40's.

You have to kill a pit of nonelite scorpions to spawn the enchanter trainer, but there are a few pits, I believe the correct one is just northwest of the remains of a paladin on this map. I recently gave up alchemy for enchanting, and soon enough I'll know for sure and edit it into this post.

I must say that the only good drop from uldaman that we go (remembering that we never killed the boss) was grimlok's charge. All the rest, including the quest loot, seemed like crap for the amount of work involved. Maraudon on the other hand was the opposite... every item seemed good or at least worth a decent amount. And the quest loot was excellent... princess quest = choice among 3 great items. Plus mark of the chosen.

Uldaman: I didn't like this at all. I don't like maze type instances...

Zul'Farrak: This instance is very bugged right now. ESPECIALLY the Rod quest. I went back recently at level 56 to finish off the quest to get my Carrot on a Stick.

Maraudon is a newer instance that was added to WoW in a patch after release. It has some of the best loot and many people continually farm the bosses in it for a few items that can't be beat in some of the level 60ish instances. The first half of Maraudon is kinda long, but once you get the staff to auto teleport to the 2nd half, you can farm it very easily if you have a decent group.

Sunken Temple is a long instance if you want to do the whole thing at one time. The loot is ok, but Maraudon is as good or better.

Yeah, that's the one thing I really don't like about Maraudon, the loot there is just way too good. Thrash blade is hugely overpowered, better than some of the low lvl epics out there. Another example would be the Gemshard Heart, that you get from the Princess, I've been wearing it for a while now on my mage, and I just recently completed the Battle of Darrowshire Elite quest in Plaguelands. That is a huge chain with numerous elite parts ending in a large battle which is completable in a 5 man group, but really takes like 8-10 if you want to be sure of completing it. The battle lasts like 30 mins, and you get 3 blue items at the end, one of which is the Arclight Talisman, which is still NOT as good as the Gemshard Heart!

I've only done Maraudon a few times, me and a pally took down the goblin by ourselves (gotta love lvl 60 stealth) just to get the shield and inventor's focal sword. It's a very long instance, and the shortcut helps a ton, but the loot is way too powerful for the level. I still see lvl 60s using Thrash blade.

Hm we did most of maraudon and I don't recall any goblin. I think I have seen the shield, though... does it look like a car with spinning rims? Is the goblin in the inner instance?

Once you port to inner maraudon and go through and kill the lizards after the water there are two ramps that head up to the giants area/landslide. If you go right after the first ramp instead of going up the second ramp goblin is a little ways in down some ramps.

And whoever said the ROD quest is broken in ZF.. how so? You have to kill all the trolls that spawn at the bottom of the temple without bly dying and you complete it. Worked for me on Sunday.

Update: Confirmed, the enchanter trainer is in that little arm northwest of the remains of a paladin on the afore-linked map. You'll have to kill about 10 low-40s nonelite scorpions to spawn her. Bring enough stuff with you and you'll only have to visit her once; she trains you in skills up to 250 (the rest are mob drops).

Text, he's Tinkerer Gizlock. Yeah, it's the spinning shield. He also drops a +int sword and a decent gun.

The loot at Uldaman and Zul pretty much stink, unless you go there when you are very low level, escorted by some higher levels. For the difficulty though, I don't think it is very much worthwhile except for XP.

So far the best instance in terms of loot for me has been Maraudon. Blue drops galore, and if you do the main quest (princess) you get great options for reward (http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?q=4485). It is fun as well, its a big place and lots of cool scenery

Lots of named in there, and each of them drop great stuff. Best to go with a well diversified party that abides by the G/N system so that you all get something good.

We did this quest again yesterday. 2 of the people wanted the gizlock drops, as in sword or shield. The gun came up and one of the warriors rolled on it and won, even though I am a hunter and it MIGHT have been slightly better than my current weapon (we'll never know). All the while, he was cursing the fact that the gun came up.

Also did zul yesterday finally. There are a couple of guys who have decent drops there, but I agree that it is not as good as mar.
