Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet tough guy. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought.What do you think. The chinese will eventually see they don't need our management "skills" that they are perfectly capable of running their own economy and businesses. It's a ways off, but when the day comes an EE will still be in demand.

wow is incredibly entertaining and if you can get past the obsession with gathering equipment, the social environment reveals itself as a fascinating
model of human behavior. obviously these people are not real friend material, so you have to distance yourself from them while enjoying and appreciating their contact at the same time. its entertaining because the atmosphere reduces inhibitions to almost a ridiculous degree, so you get a strong dose of how materialistic and insensitive people actually are. in addition, you see the vicious bullying that occurs to individuals that is so true to life. you might think that people act in these ways because of their ages, however most of the time these behaviors are from 20-30 yr olds. wow is fun, but you gotta realize its only entertainment and not life.

I get exactly what the OP is talking about, flame him all you want but he has a point.

From a pure logic standpoint, wow makes a ton of sense.

It's far less expensive than "real" socializing, doesn't involve any risks like going out drinking might, you don't need to spend time preparing with a shower, clean clothes, etc. And the biggest thing, if you have the social life of a wow addict, going out in rl isn't going to be much fun because you will feel out of place and be unsure about how to break the ice and talk to people.

The way I see it there will be no more games of interest to me and I will get on with life. I've already played the best of the best MMO's and having been through some of the best console games there's really nothing that interests me. Before I hit wow I thought I was done with gaming. Now after it, I'm sure it'll be the end.

Edit: I was just going to leave this at shut up. But here's the point. You can't just walk out into to life expecting to be naturally born with socializing skills. You can't expect to use the socializing skills that you use in your pathetic wizard computer games in real life. Believe it or not when you first started out in whatever douche bag game you were playing you needed to learn how to interact with other people. Same goes in real life. If you've completely sheltered yourself from meeting new people and putting yourself in "semi-ackward at first" situations with people that you don't know then its obviously going to take some practice... like where to stand so the big dragon does burn you with its fire or when to shield your big warrior weapon killer so he doesnt get hit with an asploding iceball nuke.
