I'm fairly new to WoW, my main (Tauren Shaman) is just level 18.

That said, I joined a Guild on Saturday. I'm on a RP server and the Guild supposedly enforces RP, and so far, it's been nice.

On Sunday we had our first raid, which we lost to a couple of lvl 40+ paladins. It was great fun, though.

I also did some RP heavy questing in the Barrens.

My best WoW weekend so far. My server has a knack for going down at the most precise moments (I don't have much time to play), so it was nice to actually being able to play the whole weekend.

We also have "Detect Lesser Invisibility" If you can suggest a practical use for this spell, I applaud you...

Not practical, but cast it while walking through the UC courtyard.

* - Got nothing useful

Completed uldaman.
* - again with xyz in the party, someone accidentally rolled on the final ring when xyz wanted it. xyz gets somewhat upset. my friend, seeing that xyz could not win, also rolls. xyz gets really, really upset. goes on a tirade. karmic justice complete.

Completed Zul (or so I thought).
* - really loved the stairs. rest was meh.

Did all of the quests for the "sprite darter" line.
* - easy quests, interesting too. sprite darter is useless as expected

Died 40,000 times in western plaguelands (sucks that a hunter can't cure disease/poison)(also sucks that the area is so dang hard)
* - cauldron bosses have too many minions
* - poisoned every 2 seconds
* - searing ghoul is out of control

Was indirectly involved in two major arguments, one inside the guild
A) really young and immature beggar whiny kid in our guild joined a group for uldaman. previous uldaman experience with him = him, 10 levels below others, running ahead and getting aggro. This time, after a couple of whisper protests from me and another, leader boots him and he whines endlessly in guild chat, at which point his family member (sibling, cousin, or mother, can't tell) joins in the fray. Despite hating the kid, I try to offer reasonable reasons why we might not have wanted him in the group.

B) druid on a mar quest run got into an argument with our paladin who asked that he heal more. his response being something like, "i'm not a healing druid".

MMM FUNNIEST PART IS ABOUT THE GHOULS IN WPL
ROFL GG FLAME BUFFET/BLASTWAVE/FLAME SHOCK
you run into the freezing ghoul too? that flash freeze is pretty sick

mmm my guild's first mc run wwent ok...wiped about 6x *thank you soultone for wipe recorvery* we died to luci 3x and called it a night

Don't buy any spells until the new patch if you can help it. Training costs for all classes are going down (except Warriors, which are going up - so warriors train any skills you haven't already trained before the new patch).

You can get by with a lower rank spell for a while, I never actually used Fireball rank 5 because I forgot to drag it to my action bar. It's my number one spell too
From what I understand the new patch isn't going to be available until June or July. I don't know if I can wait that long before buying new spells or abilities.

Post it on your realm forums, and petition again to GM. Hopefully they do something to the person who did it.

Thanks for the info. There was a level 60 shaman who I noticed was down in the ah from time to time that day and he did show up and stayed there while I sent a bug report to the GM. I check the ah and the item was gone, then he left and went straight to the mailbox and spent a long time there. I even whispered him if he won the wrist mail piece, but he never replied. I did actually think that maybe he did someone to not allow me to bid. I noticed him later in Orgrimmar and tried to get close to him to inspect him to see if he was wearing the wrist piece, but he logged out before I could. I'll try contacting a GM again.

Are you joking? Who told you it'd be June or July?

The test servers are up through this Friday, which means barring any server-exploding bugs, we'll probably see the patch either a week from today during the scheduled downtime or the week after.

Now Battlegrounds, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the patch that contained them was June/July.

Are you sure that's not a rumor? There was a big thread on the blizz forums about it one of my guildmates linked me to, then somewhere in the thread a Blizzard employee posted saying that it was false and "the mail would still get through"

My question to you is why did Blizzard make so many PvP servers when hardly anyone played on them during the closed and open betas?

the only reason the beta server was more populated during beta was that the PVP server didnt come along till late in the beta..
so most peeps were L60 on the PVE server and didnt want to switch over...

WoW is a PVP game.. you guys really need to read some blue posts...
there is NO honor system that will penalize ganking...
they have stated that over and over...
they want players to police themselves...
the only honor system thats going in is rewards for the BGs ..
again do a search for blue posts..
there is NO HONOR SYSTEM that will protect you from beign ganked as it was deceided it would ruin the PVP element of the game..
if you get ganked.. either
A: cry like a newb on the boards...
b: call out on the defence channels for help
c: call your guildmates and friends to help..
d: res at healer and go soemwhere else...
e: quit the PVP server casue ya too much of a puss to level up and then get revenge....

sigh WoW is a PVP game... there are more PVP servers becasue they are more popular than the whiniey carebear servers..

Until they actually give some reward for PvPing, I'm going to stick with the notion that it's a PvE game with PvP elements. I don't think many people here agree with the label of it as PvP as the system stands currently. Right now it's just one element of the game, and as more and more people hit 60, it is becoming strictly an end game element. Early on, it was not uncommon to see a big group of 20s try to attack astranaar, for example. Now it is pointless, because so many people are 60 that you can't survive more than a few minutes with that group.

Once they start adding rewards, goals, etc. to PvP it will be a much better game and could really be called a PvP game. Even FFXI had a stronger sense of faction/national pride. Despite having no direct PvP. The nation with the most territories under its control got many bonuses, including being able to set home points at outposts there, as well as being able to purchase additional items from faction item vendors. You gained control by first off gaining experience in the zone, secondly by "conquest missions" which were incredibly fun (you basically fought mobs with the same abilities as normal players and had to kill dozens of groups of six to gain enough influence to win a zone), etc.

I really hope WoW implements some manner of gaining control of a contested territory, or rewards for town raids (e.g. experience for attacking and experience for defending), stuff like that. That would really make me interested in a PvP server. As it is right now, 99 times out of 100, if I'm in a contested area it's to quest.

Hrmmm... my weekend. Went from 25 to 27. Not much in terms of leveling. However, I'm on a PVP server and decided to get some practice in. Went out to the crossroads and dueled anyone and everyone that wanted to regardless of their level. Found out that anyone 40+ at level 27 wil wipe the floor with me no matter what I do because I can't hit them reliably with anything.

On the other hand, I found I can kill almost any other class with my hunter up to level 39 except a well played mage that knows how to exploit my "dead zone" for my attacks. I beat a 38 mage, 39 rogue, 37 warrior, 38 priest, and 34 druid. Those were the high points. I beat a ton of others of every class rangining from 20-34. I found my most difficult challenge was against a Shaman who uses frostshock + earthbind and prevents me from getting any sort of range on them for attacks. Mages that morph my pet, then nova me, and proceed to blast me from outside melee range with well within my gun range are impossible for me to kill as well.

On the other hand, I also managed to KILL a level 58 dwarf paladin. MUAHAHA! Alliance decided to raid the horde with what looked like over 80 people. They stormed through the crossroads and killed off everything that opposed them., Well, I was just watching on the side lines and enjoying the view. Then the alliance decided to catch the blimp and head to the Undercity to try and assualt the banshee queen.

I hop on the blimp with them and zone over to Thistle. I noticed while we were on the blimp there were some morons that kept jumping around like ADHD little kids and doing it right on the very edge of the blimp. At that point I decided to smack and "run" one I saw which was a 58 dwarf paladin. I don't know if it was the surprise, the lag, or what, but his reaction to my attack was very bad for him... He fell and promtply left a greasy dwarf stain on my nice grass Undercity lawn. Of course, I had the whole alliance raid that was on the blimp smack me down pretty hard for that but I didn't care. I KILLED that level 58 paladin. He's dead dead dead.

LVL 33 NE Hunter (half to 34) did opening quests to STV w/ pretty good group of low 30s. took on lvl 37-39 quests w/ easy. 2 Hunters, mage, pally, Druid = pretty efficient quester.

gotta grind till 35-36 to fight those goblins for 100g for mount. if i can spend 5 hrs a day everyday for this week i can be lvl 40 easily (w/o downtime from excessive hording gankage.)

That's a pretty good group for non-instance qesting, you could effectivly take on 3-5 mobs at once with that group. Hunters lay freeze traps, pets tank another two, pally hops on one for additional damage and the ranged attackers open up, with the paladin and druid healing as needed.

STV is probably best done in groups, I'm not going there alone

not to mention mage sheeps. we easily took on 4-5 mobs that are 4-5 lvl above us easily. my best instance group was: pally, priest, mage, me (hunter), warrior. ran through deadmines so smoothly.

I can most of STV quests. lots of good pulls and time consuming

Hunter and mage are the best duo I've found for hunters. By best I mean most enjoyable and fastest paced. So it's not surprising that any group with a hunter and mage is a good one.

Are you sure that's not a rumor? There was a big thread on the blizz forums about it one of my guildmates linked me to, then somewhere in the thread a Blizzard employee posted saying that it was false and "the mail would still get through"

I wanted to research this more so I located the thread (was lucky as the WoW websites search function for their forums sucks). There were many that claimed that this was cheat was true, then later a few said they tried it and it wouldn't work. A couple said that Blizzard posted and said that it was false. Then people started asking where Blizzard posted. Also, a couple people later said that they got the cheat to work and that the earlier testers were doing it wrong. Then the thread ended after 14 pages on March 2. There were no postings by a Blizzard employee in it. And it seems nothing was decided as to whether it was true or not (although more people claimed it was true than those who tried to refute it). I then went to the Blizzard stickied thread where they link to all of each Blizzard employee's posts on the forums. I went through each person's from the present back to when this cheat was first mentioned and there were no comments by any Blizzard community manager.

Therefore, I still am unsure whether this is a cheat or not. Does anybody have any more info on it? MrBond, do you remember when Blizzard replied that this cheat was not true?

While we're on the subject of exploits, is there an exploit that allows players to open COD mail without paying? About 4 weeks ago (possibly longer) I sold 7 stacks of runecloth for 9.5g to some guy via COD mail. I'm pretty sure the guy has me ignored now, because he wont respond to me. I know you can extend the time you have to pay for COD mail, but it's been a really long time. Will a GM do anything about this?

4 weeks is just on the cusp of when mail expires. I'd be curious about this as well.

I'm really looking forward to meeting stones. I've been asking my guild if anyone wants to do sunken temple for 5 days. Yesterday, after asking again, I help some people in zul. About an hour later my guild had formed a group for sunken temple, and were full, without ever speaking to me. I have chalked it off to the fact that they were all people who had left their previous guild and knew each other. Still, I was extremely frustrated, especially due to the fact that there is currently no place that's all that great to go to in order to organize a temple run.

All I remeber is what my guild said - if Blizzard never posted on it, it might in fact be an exploit, and they're just not saying anything until they can get it fixed. It's not mentioned in the upcoming patch notes, but again, that might be for the same reason.

The thing is, I don't know how the won item would be mailed to you if your mailbox was full? Maybe items will linger in the mail system, where cash will not and is returned to sender?

I don't want to test it, because if it is an exploit that Blizzard knows about, it'd probably get me banned

In the thread that I read, it was suggested that the emails with items remain in a queue and even though they aren't showing up in your inbox, they are still there waiting. All you need to do is delete enough of the old emails for the ones in the queue to show up. I don't know if this is true, but it was how it was explained in the thread. After the auction ended and the item I wanted to bid on disappeared, I did notice the guy who I thought might have bid on it run to the mailbox and spend a long time there. Coincidence? I'm not sure. I still haven't sent in another ticket to a GM but probably will tonight.

Interesting thing is that last night about 60 very high level Alliance people raided Orgrimmar (my server, Malygos, according to one of the sensus sites has 3 times the Alliance people as the Horde). The guy was there helping in the defense so I was able to inspect him while also trying to defend Orgrimmar. He did have the item in question equipped.

Completed the bat part of scholomance that gave me a trinket to communicate with the dead, and the ability to buy transmute water to air.

Took the guildmates (low lvl guys) thru Marudon again, a nice purple ring dropped.

Took some other guildmates thru Sunken Temple, a purple shield (wall of the dead?) dropped from a tiny dragon whelp.

Farm some Essence of Water (got 10 globes of water and 3 elelmental water in the process) in Felwood so I can do more icy enchant for people.

Farm some high lvl gems (got 2 Aze Diamond, and one Blue Sap.) via pickpocket before they nerf this in the next patch.

Feel very bad ganking 2 lvl 38's over and over again because the party member wanted to kill them.

I never even knew mailbox size limits existed. I have had over 5 pages of items in my mailbox before without much trouble. What is the theoretical limit?
