Wrapping PSU Cables

Okay, one more question, then I think I will call it a weekend. I have been try for some time to figure out how I am going to wrap the cables from my PSU. I have tried both spiral wrap and wire loom, but I am not really impressed with either of them. Right now, it looks like I am going to use nylon sleeving and shrink wrap (kinda like the Enermax PSU's for those who have never seen this before) to clean things up. But, no matter how neat it looks, I still have one major problem. And that is that I barely even use half of the cables, the rest just hang there, or I stuff them up on top of my CD drives. This is going to be a problem since I am planning on putting a window on the top of my case. I was wondering if there is any way to either completely remove those cables which I don't need, or remove the white plastic connectors, which will allow me bundle all of the extra cables in a single piece of 1/2" loom. I will try to get an old PSU to mess around with, but I was hoping to get some input from you all first. Thanks in advance.

I feel your pain! Enermax's have tons of cable. I too have used the nylon sleeving and it looks great! Although I have half of the cables coming out of the PSU in my Truepower 420W.
May I ask where you got your sleeving? PM me

I've got a 460W power supply that has LLLLOOOONNNNGGG cables, and lots of them. I've got a DVD drive, CD-RW, 2 HDD's, 2 floppies, and a NewQ Platinum, all using internal power connectors - I've got all them plugged in, and I've STILL got connectors to spare!
I used split loom cabling from an auto-store, and then put wire ties on the ends of the loom to keep them in place better. Seems to work good enough, and I think the case is pretty tidy at this point. (At least, a lot neater than any of my other computers.)

What kind of case do you have? If it's an Antex SXxxxx series (or one of the clones) you can do like I've done with all my extra power wires: There's enough room behind the motherboard tray and the right side of the case for the wires to fit. I just leave the side of the case off until I'm done hooking up all the wires, then take the unused wires and drape them over the back side of the motherboard tray, then put the right side of the case on and screw it down tight. Works great, and you don't have to butcher your PS wiring. You never know when you might add something and will need one of those connections.
