Yeah, it was an automatic, I hated it...

The 90* turn happened when I was going around a curve, and Eric grabbed my wheel for jokes... You can surely picture it from there...

With no one else in my car I drive it as if it were my baby... I don't even go on dirt roads, if I had to go, I'd go all the way home and get mom's car and come back

Anyway, I'm just going to stick with the '89 Ford Probe 'till I finish college... I love this car for some reason, even though I've spent $1,400 fixing it in just the last couple days :/ low low low insurance @ just $300/year, so it's all good. Going to try and make it the very first show car '89 probe

And yes, the car was god awful slow... Had I gotten a 5spd it would have been a little better, but I've driven the gt-s 6-speed, and it's just not that great... I only liked the car for it's looks... They really need to fix the suspension and steering before I buy another one though.

Alright, who thinks the Probe will be flipped on its back within 6 months..

But you specifically requested the auto didn't you? That's what I remember from the original thread.

So tell me your friend grabbed the wheel for laughs before and you thought you'd let him drive it this time?

Those rims were awful...

Vi_edit is right on the ball... Now that I look back 4 years, I'm glad I had to drive a POS

Before and after pics...

Let a friend drive it, and he totalled it for me, what a great guy.. We're both perfectly fine, and so was everything on the inside of the car... And Insurance has already paid the car off... Now i get to drive this though:
>>

The insurance has WTF?

Its your friend's liability, not your's.

I hope he's paying up for the increased premium.

Well, hell, if that happens to a sport coupe in a 20mph accident, then all SUVs should be banned! Minivans and pick-up trucks, too. They'll flip in 5mph accidents if this Celica is any indication.

I can't recall a single situation where one of my tires ever left the ground during hard cornering/emergency manuevering. I don't know what I'd have to do to flip over a Celica like that.

Oh they do? Why then do the car mags like it so well? They love the handling of the latest Celica. Now I haven't driven one yet, but I suspect you just might need to fix the driver before you buy another one. Sorry man, but that?s how many of us here see it.

New drivers need old cars.

Haha now that I looked a little closer, I can see you had a rice tip on the exhaust. Nice banner too. :disgust: I'm debating what was worse - the ricing of an already pathetic car or the fact that you lost control of the car.

Nope. If the friend doesn't have his own policy that includes full coverage, then it's Don's, for letting the friend (who's obviously not a skilled driver) drive his car.

<< Let a friend drive it, and he totalled it for me, what a great guy..

Pulling into driveway and friend was going 20mph (like an idiot) and we hit a bump on the dirt road, and the rear end lifted up, and he over corrected in the wrong direction, causing it to slide the left, and when it caught traction, the car slid forward. The car then started to go forward, with loss of all steering, and we hit the side of a tree stump, on a downhill slope of about 150* from top-dead-center. The car then preceeded to roll onto its side, and slide on it's top for about 3 feet.

OK, which is it? You let a friend drive it, he was going 20mph, while you were behind the wheel? Doesn't sound like you can even be honest with yourself, let alone a group of strangers on the Internet...

<< Reason #47 why kids under the age of 21 shouldn't be allowed to drive a car less than 5 model years old and/or valued at 5x their yearly income. >>

Thats some stereotype there. Not all <21 drivers are bad and some >21 drivers are shiat drivers.

My car is OLD at eight model years old, but not letting people drive it, knowing better than driving like an idiot and paying attention to the road has kept me out of trouble.

Rolling over and wrapping around a tree is usually a dumb "young man" thing though.

Yeah the rules in US are funky. AFAIK in Canada it sticks more to the driver (thus if a friend is driving it's his problem long term), but in the US it can apply more to you, thus it's a good idea to not have others drive your car. My brother learned his when his girlfriend rear-ended somebody in his car.

I'm pretty sure the car title belongs to DonNiggera's parents they may have the right to say they didn't allow Don's friend to drive it. Don may have permission from the vehicle owner(his parents), but his friend probably assumes partial responsibility. If you let someone drive someone else's car and he wrecks it, the driver assumes responsiblity for driving something that was given to him by someone other than the owner does he not?

Probably the dirt floor.

His ICQ profile says he lives in Afghanistan

Sort of unrelated, yet still relevant:
If I drive a car under my parents insurance policy, and I get in a wreck and kill somebody, that persons family can sue my parents simply because they are the policy holders.

What you say is true, but so is reason #47...
It's impossible to tell how a new kid is going to drive, thats the reason why new drivers should NEVER get new cars. You need to gain experience on something disposable. I have had friends that got brand new cars when they learned to drive, and I'm not kidding, EVERY ONE OF THEM totalled their car.

My first car was a 10 year old Firebird. Was reliable, pretty fast, fun to drive, and not the end of the world if I turned out being a sh!tty driver. Two years later, I ditched it and got a lot nicer, newer car.

hey don are you gonna be able to get any pussy from those girls that drive 4Runners? HUH? I heard they don't talk to people who drive FORDs. Didn't you say you wouldn't be caught dead in anything that wasn't made in the past 4 years? Besides, I think it is fitting that you now are stuck driving the only car that is more of a pussymobile that an auto Celica GT. If I knew waht you looked like, I'd swerve to hit you at 120mph in my crx on the way to school. And send your parents the bill for the dent you put in my car.
turd.

Yes he said that he'd never be seen in a pre-95 car, and then only if it was something like a 300zx or something. If it was anybody else I'd have sympathy, but for Don I think this is a good learning lesson. I can only hope that it teaches him and his IDIOT of a friend some humility.
