analog. and not a half analog like most where the face is hiding a bunch of digital electronics that count how many times a piece of quartz vibrates. no, a real honest to goodness analog watch. with springs n' stuff.

Analog looks much, much better. I would only use digital while exercising, and as already mentioned, a heart-rate monitor is better suited then.

Analog watches are for AUDLTS
Digital watches are for CHILDREN.

If you cannot read a analog, you can get an analog/digital watch.

Lol I knew this poll would be biased knowing this is ATOT

Digital FTW, theres too much room for error in analog watches

Usability > Looks

"Room for error"? What, you never learned how to read an analog clock and can't figure out the actual time?

An analog quartz watch is every bit as accurate as a digital watch, so there's certainly no extra "error" there. Even a dirt-cheap mechanical watch is typically only off by a minute or so each day, so unless you're an absolute slob who is constantly trying to slide in at the last minute even that isn't enough "error" to be meaningful.

For a wristwatch, analog wins hands-down. I can take a passing glance at an analog dial and know the time to within about 5 minutes which is plenty. A digital watch requires that I actually pay attention and read it rather than just glancing.

Analog. Always.

I'm trying to think of a reason to wear my analog. I used to, before the days of digital watches. When digital came along the accuracy combined with the incredible cheapness (you could get lots of features for $40, basic features for $20), made them the watch for me. I just inherited an Omega analog and am trying to think of a reason I'd wear it. One thing about that Omega: I have to wind it daily, which takes almost a minute, and I have to remember.

One thing: When you have to make lots and lots of log entries, digital is absolutely the thing to have on your wrist. That was me today, making over 30 digital entries in a log book. I was wearing one of my digital watches.

Bingo.

If I ever get a dressy watch, it'll probably be analog - but for work, digital all the way.

Analog. They look nicer by far because there is a wide range of aesthetics that can be used for the dial, fonts, and hands. In addition, for me, they are faster and easier to read. A digital watch I have to actually read the numbers to know the time, with an analog I can just do a quick glance and get an impression of the time. I have a chronograph on my watch so I can also run it as a stopwatch which is very handy. I ended up forgetting to put on my watch the other day and was annoyed the whole day that I couldn't look at my wrist to get the time or run the timer.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't have any problem reading four numbers in a quick glance.

IMHO analog does look a lot nicer, though.

Analog for fashion is alright, but digital is a lot more practical. Having a stopwatch feature for working out (interval training, etc.), instant glance time-telling, accuracy, and no moving parts are just some of the features of digital watches.

Well, it's like Zenmervolt said, the difference is that you need to read the digital clock. I do not need to read an analog, I just need to see it long enough to have a general mental image of where the hands are and I can interpolate the time from that. With a digital clock, need to look at it longer to get an impression of what the four numbers are as opposed to the position of two distinct hands. Having a very legible watch helps too. I use a Speedmaster Pro which is very clean and easy to read.

Digital is nice once you hit 75 and your eyesight goes to shit.

This is what I usually wear on a daily basis:

i haven't owned/worn a wrist watch in 10+ years

i stopped when i started carrying a pager (pager has a clock) and then a cell phone, it has a clock
car has a clock, i spend 90% of my waking time in front of a computer or tv that has a clock

This is almost identical to me.

I used to have to wear a watch. Like I'd feel completely naked and just not quite right without one on. I stopped wearing one about 10 years ago for many of the same reasons.

Now, I do appreciate a nice analog watch, and will wear one when the situation calls for it.

Not that expense to have both.
