I'm writing a letter to Oakley about my experience with their glasses. Who should I address it to? The president? The CEO?

Also, should the envelope be hand written? If it was typed, then I think they'll throw it away, thinking it is another business letter. I'll make the letter itself typed.

Certified mail of course

they are REAL Oakleys, OK!?!?!?!!!?!?!

Experience down there.

Might as well address it to God. Has just as good a chance getting to him as it does the CEO or President of Oakley.

I would write it to their PR staff because they are the only people that would care if anybody and if the CEO/PResident did, he would be too busy.

My experience has been less than par of what I would expect from them.

Sure..does god have a name over there?

So, should I write on the envelope..PR STAFF?

You can write it addressed to the CEO or President, but they won't read it. Chances are that they have several people who do just that. Read people's complaint mail and respond. I would still send it to the CEO or President because if it's well written, then you may get a response from their goons or just his or her's secretary.

If you do address it to the CEO/President you may want to put "personal" or "confidential" on it. They still may not get it but maybe it will go noticed. If your really concerned send multiple letters different ways.

I bought a pair of A-Wires from Ashford.Com at the end of February. The first time I tried them on, they fit OK. Gradually I started to notice the frame was "out of balance," if you know what I mean. I asked my cousin if the frame was off, and she said yeah. If you look at the nose pieces, they aren't symmetrical. Therefore, the right side of the frame always has the sense of being pushed up against my eye (vs. the left one). Then my friend tried them on (who had the polarized pair) and he said that the frame is messed up (this was during June). I took them back once (before June), but all they did was re-bend the earpieces, a temporary solution which I thought did it.

After my trip, I take them back to Oakley (drive down the Foothill freakin Ranch) to get adjusted (the earpieces are out of whack and what not) and mention that the frame is unbalanced. He looks at them and acknowledges that they are uneven, but that they "don' sell them like that." Basically telling me that I did it myself. However, if you look at them, there is no way I could have done that myself to the glasses. I even tried to bend them back with my hands to see if I could balance them, but no luck. I think because of this, the lens is creeping out of its socket. And, if you look where the lenses and the nosebridge meet, they don't look the same on both sides.

I took them on my 3.5 week tour of Asia, and I question their durability. I mean, with their glasses, you have carry them in a metal case if you don't want them to get messed up, which shouldn't happen with the price you pay. Are the earpieces supposed to be that bendable? I set the glasses upside-down to see the earpieces, and they are constantly uneven.

Do some research and find out names of Director of Customer Service or something like that.

actually one of the main things my Econ teacher taught us was how to write effective letters. if you don't know who to address it to, address it to the highest person. it gets filtered down, if the president doesn't read it, his secretary will. if she doesn't, she'll send it down to the next department, and so on, until the janitor finds time to get to it

i don't know if this applies here, but i'd still forward it to the highest person. Never do the "To Whom it May Concer:" thing, it gets lost since people won't know who you're addressing. if you said the president, and he's not the appropriate person to respond to it, he'll give it to someone who is. at the end, if you're requesting a reply, make sure you say thank you, because regardless of your experience, you're taking their time by having them read the letter.

well, that's what the old fart preached anyway
