Ok so i have a WRT54GS V 2.0 and today i decided to try the HyperWRT firmware since i heard good things about it.First you need to know that my access point is located upstairs in my house and my other PC downstairs and i always had some weak signal issues since it has to go through a bunch of walls and other stuff (and no i cannot really place it elsewhere for now). The principal reason i wanted to use the HyperWRT firmware is because of the signal boost option which leads me to my question :
I cranked it up all to 100 % and the reception on my other PC is now MUCH better than it was at the default 50%.It connect almost instantly and everything is faster. Now , it's all fine and dandy but what i want to know is if it's safe to keep the transmission setting at 100 % ? I have heard that the router may overheat and be damaged because of it , is this true ? I have been running like this for 4 hours now and there are no signed of overheating or anything of the sort. And , would getting this be a better solution (kind of expensive though , actually more than the router itself lol) :

Thanks in advance for any help or clarification
