The last time I bought doughnuts they were like $6 per dozen. Are yours really large or something?

$9 is on the low end. Like real low end. Some of the more trendy places are pushing $16 or more a dozen.
I can't remember the last time I bought a dozen doughnuts but that doesn't seem expensive enough to get upset over.
The grocery store near my house makes excellent doughnuts. I often buy one for desert (probably too often) and they're around 80 cents a piece. I guess they're likely cheaper by the dozen.
I eat two breakfasts. Eggs for one. Donuts for a second. Fight me.
Yeah. There were actually a couple of us at the milk isle on Sunday that say the price and went "Woah". It's been $1.99 for a gallon of milk for what seemed like years at my normal Kroger. Last week it was $2.40 a gallon.

Time out. Wat?Back in the day (70's) I would spring for a couple o dozen and everyone thought I was the berries.
Now they would wonder where I got (and keep) the money.
