The cheapest place around me is selling plain glaze, the best type, for $9 per dozen. Most other places are at $11+. Unreal. Since when did bread with a little sugar get so expensive?!

The last time I bought doughnuts they were like $6 per dozen. Are yours really large or something?

Negative, they are normal size. I'm with you; I remember walking in and being able to buy a dozen for a 5-spot.

Donuts here are $25 for a dozen if you want really good ones. Dunkin are $10 per dozen.

It's $11 for mix n' match dozen at a somewhat nearby location. Other places sell donuts too but I have no idea how much they cost because they are so inferior I never buy from anywhere else

$9 is on the low end. Like real low end. Some of the more trendy places are pushing $16 or more a dozen.

Donuts are for morons.
Eat some eggs or some steel cut oats for breakfast like a grown ass man

Food prices are way up all around the country

Yeah. There were actually a couple of us at the milk isle on Sunday that say the price and went "Woah". It's been $1.99 for a gallon of milk for what seemed like years at my normal Kroger. Last week it was $2.40 a gallon. I was not the only person to comment on that. We buy pre-packaged salad kits and they used to be regularly be on sale for $3.00 a piece. Now the normal price is $4.00 and rarely on sale.

I can't remember the last time I bought a dozen doughnuts but that doesn't seem expensive enough to get upset over.

The grocery store near my house makes excellent doughnuts. I often buy one for desert (probably too often) and they're around 80 cents a piece. I guess they're likely cheaper by the dozen.

What I see are a bunch of old people complaining about the price of things.

...

I'm in my 30s now so I will have to start doing this soon. I will start when you could get a can of soda from a machine for under a quarter.

Huh. Ours dropped from $1.79 to $1.29 a gallon at our Kroger so I guess "Thanks for subsidizing my milk"

None of the grocery stores around here make anything other than disappointment flavored doughnuts.

Back in the day (70's) I would spring for a couple o dozen and everyone thought I was the berries.
Now they would wonder where I got (and keep) the money.

$16 a dozen are middle of the road now, high end is pushing $16 each. There is a bakery that I walk past on my way to work that is selling plain bagels at $11 each, +$2 for 'everything spice', +$2 for schmear, and +$4 for lox. With tax that comes for more than $20 for a single bagel! Of course this same place sells 'avocado toast' for like $12 per slice. They always have a line out the door.

Everything is worth what someone will pay for it.
