I had this shit this summer. It freaking lasted 3 weeks, 2-3 days of fever cough, a week in my lungs, a week in my head, a week in my nose. Lingered in my ears. It was only bad for the first week but it frilled my workout schedule.

Antibiotics didn't work on me.

You'll most likely get better. I hadn't gotten sick for like 3 years then this.

This is some bad crap going around. My sister, mom, grandmother, and sister in law's 2 kids got this. It has lasted like 10+ days for all of them. I'm avoiding all of them for anther month. They all have fevers and throat swelled up. They all had the flu shot.

Sounds like the same crap everyone in my house has. We're on about day 9 for my son, day 7 for my wife, day 5 for me, and my daughter is just starting to get it.

Fevers, exhaustion, sore throats, buckets of snot, ect. It's a nasty, annoying and enduring bug.

I think there is just some bad bronchitis going around. I got sick on December 22-23 and was sick for 10-11 days weeks. Dry cough, fever, etc. Very similar to what you are describing. Then I developed a hacking/barking cough that makes me sound like I have smoked for 20 years. But the good news is that I finally started bringing up some mucus. Its disgusting. brown and very very sticky. Probably the cause of the cough. Now that the stuff is coming out, I actually feel pretty good.

So, I guess my advice is to sit tight and wait for disgusting stuff to start coming out of your body.

The burning throat is drainage from your sinuses.
Use Sudafed to keep it clear and keep blowing your nose and hacking the mucus up.

Mucinex 12hr maximum strength(ignore the DM crap) and Sudafed 12hr(the real stuff behind the pharmacy counter that you have to show ID for) is your friend.
Use Cepacol for your throat pain.

Your 10 day course of antibiotics didn't quite cut it. I had the same thing last year, did the 10 day pack and still had it, had to get another pack to knock it out...can't remember if it was the same or a different antibiotic, they might have tried a different one. Fever was probably just a shitty coincidence

Viral sinus infections have a ~10 day lapse.
I think most colds are virus related, so antibiotics are a waste of money/time/health.

I have no data to back my opinion up.

Bacteria in our bodies are usually what keeps the yeast/fungus in check. When you kill all those off with antibiotics it allows them to go apeshit wild, and if you have a shitty immune system you can be seriously fucked. Also due to the symptoms being "flu-like" many doctors will figure you have the flu or some other crap and might prescribe you antibiotics, which is essentially like throwing gasoline on the fire.

Ok, now that I've sufficiently scared the shit out of you, go to a med stop and get strep tested. Its quick and easy, and will let you know if its strep or not.
