Cats have been known at time to protect the house. It just seems rare because we associated dogs with that. But I have read stories about cats going batshit insane when their owners are attacked. i remember reading about a cat that protected its owner from a pitbull. Cats with front claws can be devasting to eyes.

I was attacked by a cat once. I was dropping off a newspaper at someone's apartment, and the cat came out to greet me. I squatted down and played with the cat cat for a bit, then started spacing out. (I was lacking sleep.)

Next thing I know, this cat attacks me with a leaping headbutt - clocks me right between the eyes. He drops to the floor, recovers, then hisses at me nastily, then bites me on the forearm - hard! (Bite marks lasted a few weeks.) And then he runs back inside.

I am like, what the heck just happened here?

And, next time I see this cat, he's all friendly again, like nothing happened. LOL

For the people asking about how it got taped, it's the new in-thang for parents these days. Too many scarey shows about babysitters abusing their kids while they are gone at work nowadays, so people are setting up webcams to watch their house.

Wireless webcams have also dropped in price quite a bit.
