How dare you try to bribe me by LOWERING my Internet bill! How DARE you!

I'm on the Performance plan as a standalone service and it went from $67.95 top $59.95 per month. That is the first time in 13 years that the cable Internet service went down in price instead of up.

The only thing I can think of as to why they did it was the announcement by AT&T to replace their pre-1996 IFITL infrastructure with Gigapower Internet this summer (ahem, 2017, really).

Or it could be a mistake and they meant to raise the price by $10 and 8 months from now when they catch their mistake they will retroactively bill you for the difference since the price adjustment.

Don't forget that they probably signed OP up for a 2 year agreement where his new $78 per month bill will increase to $150 a month after the first 12 months. Now if he tries to switch to the new AT&T service, he will have to pay $1000 to get out of is agreement with Comcast.

I really wish someone would come in and make legislation to keep these companies from the deceptive billing practices they all engage in. It burns me up that they never tell you the standard rate right off the bat or in fine print. They give you a 12 month introductory rate and when you ask what they'll bill after that, they'll say, "We don't know because we can't guess what we'll be charging that far out...." or just tell you it'll be the standard rate at the time...

I've been unplugged from high speed internet the past 2 years because of their billing nonsense and using my 4G connection for everything since they changed my cable internet bill from $42 to $65/month without notice.

My favorite (NOT) tactic they have is when you sign up for a multi-year contract to lock in a rate, they just raise various taxes and fees which are not part of the service charge. So locking in a rate is really smoke and mirrors.

When I lock in a price for 12 months I start getting calls 1-2 months in about how my package is expiring and I've got to upgrade to a higher bundle...

And yet...I have Wave Broadband...I'd KILL to have Comcast as an option.

As bad as Comcrap might be...Wave is (IMO) 10X worse. It's very unusual for us to go 2 weeks without the internet going down. (goes down more often than a Main Street hooker on payday)
Of course, if you call into their tech support to bitich...they want to walk you through rebooting the fucking modem...then they find out..."Oh, looks like there's a system wide outage in your area. Service should be restored tomorrow."

I'm stuck with Time Warner here. Uptime is decent but their DNS is completely broken, their webmail is a joke and they charge 80$/mo for 50 Megabits. At least they don't throttle traffic (yet).

Edit: and their IPv6 support is totally borked as well. In 2016. LOL

Yup, one day my Comcast bill suddenly dropped $30, I didn't say anything, and then a year later I'm billed an extra $360 and the price went back up $30.

I'm so beyond happy my town is one of the only around me that is getting a LOCAL company installing gigabit fiber. So so so happy to get rid of comcast.

I get this many comcast fliers per WEEK and I'm a active customer! I get 1-3 mailers.

Hmm. Oh man, I'll be pissed if they do this.

I've unfortunately been a Comcast customer for 16 years now. When we had our service moved a couple of months ago, they tacked on some BS charges. We called to get them removed, and they said that if we agree to a year contract, that it's only $60/mo instead of $80.

I said sure, sounds good. I wanted to say.. Can you retroactively apply this to the last dozen or so years? Should be good for a couple years of free service...

I don't even want to calculate how much money I've given them, or how many modems I could have bought with their rental fees. They're $10/mo now! Used to be $3. Finally bought my own modem.

D:

I went with Frontier DSL at the business because I couldn't stomach giving Comcast anymore money, but unfortunately it was too shitty, so we just switched to Comcast Business.

It is much better and faster, but ugh. Now I pay for the internet 4 times; home, work, and two phones. At least Comcast doesn't do cell service...... I might just off myself if I had to pay 4 Comcast bills per month.

Guys, I am not on contract. I've had cable Internet service for more than a decade. Wife printed an email that I had not seen where they announced the reduction in my Performance grade service while they raised it for other plans.

I'm guessing since they increased the data caps to 1 TB they figured they might get a rush of customers increasing their service speeds, but for me that ain't happening. BTW, I have never had a promotional offer as I am deemed by Comcast as an unwanted customer.

I am unwanted because I am an inherited customer from Adelphia and anytime I've asked for a price break they have simply said NO. Shocking considering I have never asked for or received any special accommodations beyond the one time which garnered the NO.

Of course, I do believe this may in fact be because of AT&T's announcement to replace their existing network--which I cannot even get on. So, it will be an environment where there is no competition for non-cellular service to one where there is competition.

For god sakes man get an SB6121 off Ebay for $30 like I did. Pays for itself in 3 months. The rest of that is pure gravy.
