It is amazing to me that during Sweeps we used to get hookups that were unforeseen but this year the trend is Death of major character.

The Simpsons is also still gearing up to knock off a major character this season. We know it's not Krabappel, as they already stated that Marcia Wallace's death was a coincidence and that character will simply be retired like Phil Hartman's were.

Family Guy has been a bit of a roller coaster for me. I didn't really like it when it first came on. Then came to appreciate it in reruns. As I've gotten older though, I don't really like it again. I can sit down and watch all the original episodes of the Simpsons and still thoroughly enjoy them. Family Guy I grew out of.

I think South Park nailed what's wrong with the show. It's a lot of throwaway gags, references to 80s pop culture, and shot for shot remakes of famous movie scenes that have nothing to do with the plot. A lot of which a big chunk of their fanbase don't get, and mistake for original ideas. American Dad was always his best show and really should have been the more popular of the three. Family Guy appeals more to teenage Dude Bros though.

Finally watched the episode last night. Didn't know which character was going to get it but read the headline about a major incident on the show. Didn't really shock me that much, it's a cartoon. The actor who plays Brian is just fine (probably).

Seth voices Peter, Stewie, Brian AND a lot of the minor voices in the show and is the master mind behind it all. So I'm sure if he wasn't fine, the show would effectively be over. :ninja:

Back from the dead: Is Family Guy’s Brian Griffin set to return from beyond the grave?

Speculation is mounting that Brian Griffin is set to make a sensational return to Family Guy just weeks after being killed off.
According to US publication Entertainment Weekly the Seth MacFarlane-voiced dog – who was run over by a car last month in the episode Life Of Brian – will be back in Quahog on Sunday December 15.
Although the exact nature of his return has not been clarified, the episode – entitled Christmas Guy – reportedly features Brian in the cast list.
It also promises a plot in which baby Stewie ‘devises a master plan to get the one and only thing he wants for Christmas’.

This episode from May 19, 2013Season: 11 Episode: 21 - Road to Vegas

Stewie decides to try out his new teleporter machine. After Stewie's new teleportation device appears to have malfunctioned, he believes it failed to work. But instead, it created a duplicate set of Brian and Stewie. While one pair fly to Las Vegas, a duplicated pair find themselves transported as originally planned.

As the pairs go their separate ways, an enforcer for the loan shark catches up with the previously lucky pair to get the money back and they discover they have no cash left. The enforcer shoots Stewie in the head, killing him. The second pair worry about getting caught or endangering the family. Stewie suggests that perhaps they should kill themselves and Brian reluctantly agrees. They prepare to throw themselves off the top balcony of the hotel but Stewie chickens out as Brian falls to his death. Returning home the next day, the remaining Brian and Stewie bump into each other at the bus terminal. After sharing their versions of their stories, they head for home while the dead pair meet in Heaven.

I believe that duplicate Brian was the one that was killed as the original Brian was killed by suicide in Vegas.
