Huh so they actually did start selling the Macbook Wheel?
No. The Macbook wheel has a button.
"One button...endless possibilities."
Let's see if I have the checklist correct here...
Search to see when last mac thread was made in OT.
If it has been awhile then go ahead and make one.
Topic doesn't really matter. After a few posts it will devolve into a mac users are dumb discussion.
Sit back and watch thread explode with hate.
Is that about right?
My friend uses a Macbook and he dislikes the fact that Apple is slowly disabling some geek (non-hipster) tools that have been present in past versions of OSX

I just went through the process of reinstalling Mac OS X on two Macs, and reinstalling Windows 7 on two PCs. (I was swapping in some SSDs.)
Doing it on Mac OS X was a breeze. Windows was a fricking PITA. Just the Windows Update process took several hours.
It's totally awesome being able to boot up a MacBook Pro with the install for a MacBook or a Core i7 iMac, despite the fact they have different hardware, including different GPUs. It's also totally awesome being able to boot off external hard drives, either by Firewire or by USB. It's also nice that Mac OS X updates don't consist of a bazillion of individual updates.
OTOH, Windows updates consists of the occasional service packs, and a page full of individual updates... including the stupid Bing install they hide in there. You can't clone Windows 7 installs either unless you have identical or near-identical hardware, because it won't run on the wrong hardware. Plus you can't easily boot off external drives, a major, major annoyance.
Sure you can. It sounds like you just need better cloning software. Use something that supports universal restore and you don't need to worry about hardware differences. I use it quite often and it works pretty well.

WTF is this gif? Dance? Seizure? Drugs? Combination of all 3?

I don't think so. It has nothing to do with cloning. There's a very low success rate when you simply move a drive from one system to another, even if you get the controller mode correct between legacy/IDE mode and AHCI/SATA mode.
