The school is not far from I work in a very crappy part of town. Its a area where people move away so thier children will have a better education in another school. The same week this happened, 3 kids from another school in the same area tried to carjack a guy and ended up dragging him down the road. They gave up and ended up going back to school where they were later arrested.

I NEVER said that. I'm simply saying the same psychological theory is at work. "Stuff" refers to unfortunate events happening in public and nobody doing anything. Hindsight is 20/20 and we'd like to say that we would do one thing or another, but the truth is very few would do anything when placed in a situation like that...we diffuse the responsibility amongst other people.

Yep about to post the same as well. I can;t remember the name of it but it just says soemthing along the lines if you are ever hurt it is better to have 1-2 people around then 100. When there are more people most will do nothing as they think help HAS to be on the way etc... But only 1 person will look around and do soemthing as they know they are the only help around.
