WTF is wrong with the US patent office??

just read it, some company called "The Brain" has gotten a patent for the human thought process. Sooo any computer that emulates the human brain function, so when scientist try to figure out how the brain works using software emulation they have to pay fees to The Brain.

They have applied for a glopal patent, hope this never goes through anywhere else.

If he can prove how the brain works, then he might lay claim to the patent. Oh, btw, I would like to patent the wheel, please.

Isn't the alaphbet patented?? Don't you have to write your letters a different way with Palm pilots because they don't want to pay royalities on the alaphbet??
Since the wheel seems to be taken, I'll go for the patent on gasoline
