WTF? More missing blocks! Dnet!!?? How about a friggin answer??!! It just got worse!

Dnet REALLY needs to get their act together. Stats are finally up for the 10th, and we're short at LEAST 80,000 blocks. We did over 300K just through the pproxy, and Dnet shows only 255K. Add our direct to Dnet production and we should have been at 340K or more.

This is getting damned old. And, NO, they don't always show up later.

I lost over 1200 blocks for June 9--not 80,000 I admit--but it was 20% of my production that day and I should have had a BDE . It does suck, I don't understand where these things go--it can't be that I was doing randoms, I have 24 hour access and I don't keep ridiculously large buffers where blocks may sit around for a while.

I just sent them yet another eMail, and I'm sure that, yet again, they'll give me some crap about randoms or dupes. Nearly 25% of production? Dupes, my ass.

You're assuming they are sending you good blocks to start with. Maybe the problem is the key servers are giving out done keys

The Asylum's stats are low for the day as well, by about 25% from my calculations.

Sounds like some kind of a problem with the master server, as a lot of people's stats look low. Geez, when are they going to get these problems fixed? If you look over decibel's plan updates, there are problems about every 10 days with one of these servers. And when are the new servers going up? It's been 5 months since they announced the new stats box, yet it hasn't been put into production yet. I could've built a server from empty soda cans by now!!

I thought something was afoot. I noticed our keyrate on the proxy and then compared it to dnet's rating... much higher on our proxy. Anywho, hope this gets sorted out as we had a really nice day on the 10th.

I noticed a bunch missing for me too.. I generally have any machines I can get my hands on at work just flushing directly to Dnet rather than a team proxy; near as I can figure, I'm out about 4k. :|

My Excel Spreadsheet shows I've gained blocks, but not that many for the 10th. Strange!!!

On the Thursday evening, 6/7, at 6:00 PM CDT, I flushed 2,264 blocks from my apartment herd. They made it to Mika's, but have not shown up on Dnet. This was one days production and the blocks were from my pproxy and could not be older than one week. I've lost over 20k blocks since I started helping with RC5. Needless to say, the loss pi$$es me off!

Guys have got to make sure that your not using clients which are no longer giving valid blocks. For example, blocks are no longer accepted from beta versions that had errors in a while back. Possibly people are still using them?

We, in TA Cube are, and always have been, using 8010. It has nothing to do with the client, and everything to do with Dnet screwing up again.

Likewise - I've been upgrading and refurbishing the "herd" - as a rule of thumb, I'm only using the current "official" version - I do not use the BETA versions at all.

I've sent three eMails to these guys asking what is going on and have yet to receive an answer. So far this month we have lost:

6/7: 40,000
6/10: 80,000
6/11: 150,000

That's 270,000 blocks this month alone. Not to mention over 400,000 that have VANISHED in the past and never been seen again.

How many millions of blocks system-wide have just gone up in smoke?

At the VERY LEAST, they have an obligation to say something instead of letting us sit in the dark, and watch the effort go for nothing. I don't think an explanation is too much to ask.

Maybe you shouls try other, more official, way. Like using Dnet's mailing lists (http://www1.distributed.net/discussion/) and ask if other users have similar problems with missing blocks. And after all users complain they have to give some answer

I did 1672 blocks on the 12th according to the team proxy. Dnet's only showing 959, a 42.6% loss.

This problem involves everybody. Just check the Top 100 participants yesterday. Very low numbers indeed
