WTF...my bass guitar doesn't make noise, anymore. What to do??!?

I have a Sterling Stingray bass guitar. It decided to stop giving audio output. What should I do? Throw it in the trash? Fix it? (Spoiler: I'm not going to throw it in the trash.) ??!?

Yeah, I tried both diff cords and diff amps. It's just being stupid.

Further, the battery has a good connection. What else could there be?

Maybe there's a short in the jack itself?
Does it have active pickups?

Edit: okay, it's active, you verified the battery is connected... did you also verify the battery is still good?

Yes, I tried the tongue test on the old 9V; it seemed good. Just to make sure, I put a NEW 9V in it. Still nothing...

You could take the pickup out and check. Or take it to a guitar store. I have rewired most of my MIJ 70s guitars and basses. Its pretty straight forward.

Yep, either it's time to open it up and poke around the wiring yourself, or bring it into a shop.

My first guess is that the solder on the input jack severed. I've had that happen to me before. IMO, take it to a guitar tech, i bet they could fix this in under an hour.
