They were fvcked. There were things people did in the 70's and 80's that were just straight up pitiful and lame and we can mock them freely as we ought to. Things that the 90's, even 20 years from now, will not be able to hold a candle to.

I mean you see a classically 70's architected house and I swear you could make an objective scientifically proven case for it being ugly to humans. Along with the clothes and furniture. Those houses are just freaking ugly. Find me an era-typical abode from 1910,1920,1930, etc. and when you hit the 70's it's like what in all fvck is this?

I was going to say I REMEMBER SEEING THAT WHEN I WAS A KID!!!!

It was a comedy- not to take seriously. Donnie and Marie had a lot of skits like that based around guest stars, and Star Wars was VERY popular at the time. C3P0 and R2D2 were showing up on talk shows, Sesame Street...everywhere. This was just another example. One of those "You had to be there" things.

Sweet was great, disco sucked, and I was there too. I remember in HS how everyone basically hated disco except a few songs here and there. There were "Disco Sucks" bumper stickers on quite a few lockers.....courtesy of the local rock station. We all listened to Journey, Styx, Foreigner, The Cars, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen....the list is endless. I don't even remember many disco artists except people like Donna Summer.

But yeah, disco was the start of the over-produced pop music we have today. This shaped into glam rock in the 80's, then rap in the late 80's/early 90's, to the bubble gum crap we have on the radio in 2010.
